This is truly one of the most sincere and accurate representations that I have ever read of a 12 year old girl. Very brave, sometimes to the point that I was uncomfortable being thrust into that middle school place again. At its core, however, this book is beautiful. I love that Bina allows the adults in the book to be flawed, yet present. So often, pre-teen books remove adults from the equation completely, but the role that the adults play in this book is significant and real. I also love that ...more
