R to L (Japanese Style). Naruto is a ninja-in-training with a need for attention, a knack for mischief and, sealed within him, a strange, formidable power. Edit 2: I'd just like to say that this main-character-is-light-haired thing I talk about is simply something I noticed. I know it's not true for all manga. I know.
If you like Naruto, that's wonderful. I did not find much to like about it, and not much to hate about it (yet) so, I'm going to take the liberty and talk about other manga related stuff here.
I find it hard to judge a manga just by a few chapters. However, now that I've read (*counts fingers* ...1, 2, 3... 4? Let's go with 4) four mang...more

japan is full of wackiness. this is a fact. have you ever seen tokyo gore police?? i have. it is wacky. so is visitor q. they airbrush the pubic hair in their porn, they make beer for kids, they sell soy sauce flavored kit kats, their game shows are mind-boggling, everything is cute and brightly colored and for some reason, they still love hair bands from the eighties like bon freaking jovi.

Call me mainstreamer and I don't care. There are reason why a book can be mainstream, one of them is because the book is good enough to attract people's attention.
This review is perhaps totally biased because I love Sasuke too much

God, those abs!
Artwork: If you talk to me about manga, artwork always comes first. Among those shounen mangas that have become mainstream, Masashi-sensei's artwork is the simple one, the neat one, and just the way I like it. The panels are simple, never make me squin...more

sigh, my 12-year-old daughter
I resisted reading this for a long time because I was determined not to succumb to another one of my daughter's crazes (Pokemon -yes, I'm a 40 year old Pokemon Master, and Fruits Basket -wasn't as crazy about that one. A little too emo for my taste.)
But this Naruto is well worth a read. I quickly grew to care for spunky, spazzy, orphaned Naruto and his shinobi-in-training classmates. They are oddly focused for 12-year-olds though, and the trials they face are arduous and their implications philo...more

Now I'm going to review not this volume but Naruto as a whole, 'kay? Get it?
So Naruto, what can I say, I'm obsessed with the anime, and since my cousin was like spoiling things, like Sasuke kills Hitachi but Hitachi was not a bad guy blah blah blah...So I'm like Sasuke what? Hitachi what?
So my curiosity finally got me and then my cousin recommend this site onemanga wherein you can read manga scans for free and then I started to read not the beginning of the series because it's too long and it...more
Naruto was one of the first shonen mangas I've ever read. It's unique, well thought-out, interesting and you can see a lot of changes in all the characters. That's probably one of my favorite aspects of this series, not including the fact that it's about ninjas.
In the beginning, Naruto is a boy that is shunned by his village, because he is the living "vassal" of an evil demon fox that the villagers encased in him to stay safe. Throughout the series, Naruto acts immature, and loves pulling pranks...more

I actually like this manga. There is so much going on. I like it because there is alot of action. Its just full of it! Its funny too. Was abit upset that later on they did kill of a few good characters and kept the ones that I aint so interested in about. I am actually up to date with it and it just gets better believe me. I think its one of the best action manga around. Its very popular and it has every reason to be because as the storyline develops it just gets better and better and alot of ma...more
From R to L, I really enjoyed this manga about Naruto and his development as a ninja. He starts off likes any other ninja; a kid. He dreams of being like everyone else and doing all these different moves. He is immature and everyone in the village believes he's not ready to be a ninja. He wants to prove them wrong but he still like any other kid. He plays pranks and acts stupid.

Naruto is Konoha's #1 knuckle-head ninja! As expected, the manga starts off with a bang (sort of). Twelves years previous, the village is attacked by a demon fox with nine tails. The fourth Hokage (the leader of the village) stops the fox but only at the cost of his life. Flash forward, and you have Naruto pulling a prank by defacing the monument to the Hokages (think Mt. Rushmore). There's a big chase, which ends with Naruto being tied up. Poor Naruto is forced to clean off the gigantic stone f...more
In a book called Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, is about a boy
named Naruto who grows up to be a ninja. When Naruto was a baby he grew up without any parents. People resented him because of what he was.Hence
he vowed to become a ruler so everyone will respect him and protect the
people loves.I would give this book a 5/5. This book gets a 5/5 because
it has a great plot, it’s has comedy and great character development

Naruto is trying to pass his academy school so he can become a ninja and eventually the Hokage(#1 Ninja and leader of village). But he's an incorrigible prankster and trouble maker. The final exam is coming up and is he can successful make a doppelganger, he will pass, if not. Failure. Iruka, his sensei, wants Naruto to succeed, but with hard errort. Mizuki, however offers a different route.

I LOVE the Naruto world! The characters, the plot, the backgrounds, everything. And apart from a few 'blah' moments I find no faults with the manga or the anime, although I do prefer the Japanese adaption of the anime, the English voices do not do it for me, bring on the out and out sexy Japanese voices.

The only thing I can think to say is that this is so overrated. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much (I was expecting a Hunter x Hunter rip-off, actually... some elements are pretty similar so far) so it wasn't too surprising. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good. Whenever I see a fan raving about Naruto being unique, I feel like crying. (I once saw someone say that HxH copied Naruto and just about gave up on humanity.) I'll admit HxH made me somewhat biased, and I'll probably reference simila...more
I like this book because Naruto is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and dreams to become the Hokage, the ninja in his village who is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. The series is based on a one-shot comic by Kishimoto that was published in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.pg(0)

I remember when I was young, whenever I'd go to my cousin's house, I'd get this manga of their bookshelves. I'd sit there for hours reading and re-reading the same volume (because they only had this one) until I eventually broke the spine. As Naruto was a gift to my cousins, it was in the end, their gift to me. It also remains one of my favorite presents of all time, despite the horrible condition I put it in. This beauty right here is what started it all.

While I am a guy who thinks of manga as an art, I reads from time to time even manga book aimed at children, because (let's be honest) even a children story can be work of art if it's good. I like Tetsuwan Atom (and probably everything by Tezuka Osamu), Ares (manhwa which acually doesn't feel like it's aimed at kids) and there is even a special place for Dragon Ball and Hunter x Hunter in my heart. So will Naruto join these fine children stories?

Despite being one of the most famous shonen titles around, eventually Naruto doesn’t escape the pitfalls of its genre but it definitely does a better job than most in terms of complexity.
The artwork is definitely original in a way, as most areas, especially the ninja villages, are very cool looking in their design. Yet, it is full of anachronisms and irrelevant details. For instance, why are there ninjas in a world where ever...more

I started Naruto with the anime and I'm just in love with the fact that the anime is JUST LIKE the manga. They didn't change a thing!!! HYAAA~H you can't imagine how thankful I am!!
Anyway, onto my review. NOTE: This is on the entire series--meaning Naruto Vol. 1-27 (not including the Shippuden series, but anyway . . .).
Technically, I first heard about this story in 3rd grade, when one of my friends explained to me that it was about a blonde ninja with spiky hair. And THEN, within that same month...more

The adventures of Naruto Uzumaki in both anime and manga form are a sight to behold (for the most part). This series follows ninja-in-training, Naruto Uzumaki, a boy formed when the Nine-tailed Fox was sealed within. A rather careless, edgy soul, Naruto is always out seeking the newest challenges and climbing his way up to eventually being hokage. He's accompanied by various lovable (sometimes, not) characters, including the bold Kakashi, witty Sakura, dedicated Neji, and disturbed Gaara.

According to Mangafox, this is the most popular series on the site, so I figured I might as well it a try. It's good, but I don't see myself investing too much into this series (it's a tolstoy of over fifty-six volumes; there's no way I'm spending that much time unless it's truly gripping). After reading through the pilot issue, though, I can understand why so many people love it; Naruto panders to several key demographics with its plot, themes, and internal conflicts; the fact that it's about n...more
Let's face it, manga (Japanese comics) are more like screenplays with images (storyboards really) than novels and leave much to be desired in complexity of both story and language. That being said, they can be very imaginative and character driven, and of course highly entertaining. I haven't read much manga, but Naruto stands out as my favorite. The story is about a 12 year old ninja (15 later in the series) who has aspirations of becoming his village's leader. Needless to say, as the series is...more
Naruto is a long-running series with all the power of hype that that entails. It begins as the story of a clumsy, none-too-bright boy who wants to become the greatest ninja ever. This is, as one might expect, not terribly easy.
I was more than a little leery of venturing into such a well-publicized manga. I’ve been burned before by popular works that have all the texture and depth of fast food, but I figured I’d give it a try. Fortunately, it is a long running series, so the initial toilet humor...more

The quality of this level of story-telling is so superior to anything I've read before. Kishimoto weaves a moral tale that is dynamic, powerful, funny, dramatic ... it has everything one could hope for from any work of fiction one might endeavour to read, at any level. It is no wonder this series has reached the level of popularity that it has because it's so complete.

Main Summary: Naruto is the story of a young would-be ninja living in a village and society of Ninja, I say would-be because Naruto is easily the worst ninja in the village as we meet him. However, Naruto's greatest attribute is that he never gives up, no matter how hard the ordeal or how difficult the training. So we follow him on his quest to become the greatest ninja in the world. We meet his friends, his allies, his enemies, and even learn that he is vessel of a truly dark secret that the en...more
