I just completed this book two of three in The Villeins Trilogy. Fast-paced storytelling with compelling characters is the mode here. This book was even better than the first, picking right up from where the first ended. Pearson not only creates a page-turning tale - he challenges the reader's thinking about might making right and brings out chilling parallels to our modern superpower world with the power of the Church in Europe at the beginning of the Reformation.
