A collection of eleven stories by Barry Malzberg writing as K.M. O'Donnell, featuring the eponymous novelette which was the 1968 Nebula runner-up. At his best Malzberg is brilliant in his bleak and uncompromising study of humanity and its relations with technology and what used to be called future-shock.
