This is GI Joe in its prime. We meet Dr. Mindbender and his creation, Serpentor. The story lines revolve around Cobra Island, the Joe's invasion of Springfield and Cobra's assault on The Pit. Zartan introduces his siblings, Zandar and Zarana. We also meet lots of new Joes. Meanwhile Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow team up to take care of business. This volume also includes a few issues of Special Missions. I enjoyed reading them, but they distracted from the Real American Hero plotline.
