Would you think them mesmerized by some pervasive illusion, or simply ignorant of their pending disaster? This question may come closer to

Kermit Heartsong's Illusions, Dystopia & Monsters uses style, humor and insight to explain the feedback loop of corruption, greed and pathology in the United States political-economic system.

The first part of the book details how corporations have taken control of our system, from the legal concept of corporate personhood promulgated by the judicial branch to the legalized bribery of elected officials who do their corporate benefactors' bidding, with a few salient and timely examples of the

Illusions, Dystopia, and Monsters: How the Truths of Our Time May Be Stranger Than Fiction by Kermit E. Heartsong

Illusions, Dystopia & Monsters: How the Truths Of Our Time May Be Stranger Than Fiction is a unique, captivating and thoroughly disturbing book. The author, Kermit Heartsong, explores the idea of reality as potentially more terrifying than any dystopian film, by a direct comparison with over 70 films.

Kermit E Heartsong is a board game designer, qualified engineer and author of The United States of Mammon. His most recent work is the non-fiction book Illusions, Dystopia and Monsters (2013) published by Tayen Lane Publishers. While this work was based on an interesting concept (comparing today’s societies with those presented in dystopian fiction), it missed the mark a little for me.

Illusions, Dystopia and Monsters is a well-structured book that considers they key issues facing our plan

Heartsong compares the fictitious dystopian films and novels of our century to the realities of today. The truth is sobering. We are actually living in an age that has matched, if not surpassed, our imaginative dystopian creations. Those worlds we have read about or seen in 1984, The Matrix

I really wanted to like this book, and it makes me real sad when I go into a book like that and then end up not liking it.

There really isn't much to say about this one, guys. I responded to a reviewers-wanted call for this book and was super stoked about it. But - it was basically an act of Congress to get through it. The info in the book is interesting, but it's not very well researched. Right out of the gate, I was seeing citations for Wikipedia, Free, and the like. I had to kin
