Lindsay Miller is knee-deep in Christmas cards and homemade fudge, but she's never felt more like a Grinch. Why can't Christmas be full of magic, like in her favorite movie, A Christmas Carol. . .?

. . .Enter Fred, a sexy and eccentric stranger who arrives at Lindsay's door out of the blue. Dressed like he just stepped out of a Dickens novel, complete with British accent, F

Sweet Christmas novel that has an underlying message to make the most of every day and not let the past define your future.

Lindsay is having a bit of trouble getting into the Christmas mood this year when a stranger shows up on her doorstep looking mysteriously like an actor from the Holiday movie she was just watching on tv. "Fred" and Lindsay start a friendship of sorts in the days leading up to Christmas even though she is resistant at times to his attempts at holiday cheer. He is q

This is sweet Christmas romance is sort of an updated version of A Christmas Carol crossed with The Bishop’s Wife (or The Preacher’s Wife) with a nice twist. Lindsey is bogged down with all the chores she’s set for herself for the upcoming holidays, but then Fred shows up at Lindsey’s door saying he’s been sent to help her discover the joy of Christmas and to help her reconcile with someone in her past. The trouble is Fred appears to look exactly like her favorite character in a

I loved this. It's that simple. I simply loved it. I realize Christmas was last week, but you can start your 2015 Christmas reading with this one. Or it might extend your 2014 Christmas Glow if you read it now!

Lindsey likes Christmas, mostly, but she feels stressed, too. So much to do, so little time. I found myself thinking that Ms. Donovan must have been in MY HOME, taking notes, when I read some of the moments in this book. Christmas cards! They tend to STARE at me for ages and I find, just l

Most of us can identify with Lindsay Miller as one time or another in our lives. The do list for the holidays seems to be a never-ending list of chores instead of a celebration. I really wish my wakeup call had been Fred like Lindsay has in No Christmas Like the Present. What a way to bring the magic back into a life. I loved the connection to my favorite Dickens’ story, A Christmas Carol. Now I will always see the nephew Fred, in ways that I never imagined him before.

A really magical, mystical Christmas story- vivid imagery and the sleigh bells almost jump out from the page!!!!!!

Lyndsay is lost in preparations for Christmas- allowing herself to get really stressed with all the items on the never ending list of ‘things to do’!
Fred turns up at her door- is he an angel sent to help her- or do angels really exist? He has until Christmas Eve to help her rediscover the real reason behind Christmas and help her address things from her past. Are they falling in love

Quirky and poignant, NO CHRISTMAS LIKE THE PRESENT is a charming holiday story that combines the magic of It’s A Wonderful Life with the warmth of A Christmas Carol. A lovely, feel-good story to be read in front of the Christmas tree with a cup of cocoa.

This was hands down one of the most charming books I've ever read. Loved it!
A light, fun contemporary Christmas romance featuring the ghost of Christmas present...

"Remember, Christmas is always best when you take it out of the box."
He'd bring Christmas to her the best way he knew how: one moment at a time.

NO CHRISTMAS LIKE THE PRESENT by Sierra Donovan is a sweet and clean, fractured retelling of Charles Dickens' 'The Christmas Carol.' It features the ghost of Christmas present calling upon a woman who needs to stop paying penance for a mistake she made in the past as

I know! It is terribly early for this type of thing. Mostly, I tend to be “bah humbug” during the holidays, however, I also have a weakness for Christmas stories. But, only in private, just me, and any time of the year is good for this type of indulgence. Go figure. I have never shared that guilty pleasure with anyone before. What can I say?

No Christmas Like the Present fit perfectly into that little guilty pleasure. It was an interesting and fun twist on the classic Christmas Carol theme. There

Utterly enchanting, Sierra Donovan brought the heart and sentiment in this lovely Christmas story that has a feeling of familiarity, but is utterly unique. As a fan of Its a Wonderful Life, I adored Clarence the Angel, and Donovan works her own bit of ‘otherworldly’ magic into her character Fred.

Lindsay is not feeling the Christmas spirit at all: single, career-driven and just a touch lonely, the tasks that should bring joy only feel like obligations, and she just would like to fast-forward pas

This book has several elements that I LOVE! I love a Christmas book when it is hot and not yet the season. It puts me in a better mood. I love a fairy tale! I like the idea of thinking that maybe…just maybe…something like that might happen one day. It’s fanciful…like Santa Claus and the Easter bunny.

Lindsay Miller is totally buried in the typical trappings associated with getting ready for Christmas…making fudge and cookies, Christmas cards, buying gifts, wrapping them, decorating…the list goes

This is a charming, feel good story about a young woman, Lindsay Miller, who is so caught up in doing the “preparations” for Christmas that she misses its whole idea/purpose, and a strange, quirky Englishman who comes to her from who know where to try to help her set her priorities correctly and to realize the idea/purpose of Christmas and the season. Ironically, this same man looks just like a character in the holiday staple and Lindsay’s favorite holiday movie “A Christmas Carol”. Lindsay ...more

No Christmas Like The Present by Sierra Donovan
Goodreads Author

Lindsay has her rather typical rush around the holidays. She attempts to get her Christmas cards mailed to friends and family, gifts for everyone. Fred arrives at the door, she isn't sure if he is an angel or just plain nuts. This is a perfect story for the holiday season.

What a delightful book! It was a perfect Christmas read...I can totally imagine this being made into an ABC Family Christmas movie. :-)

There are so many bad, even horrific, Christmas romances out there that it's easy to get discouraged and even a little depressed when you're trying to find a good one. Then you read a book like this and it's all worth it. The characters were lovely, the story was charming without being too sweet, and the writing was delicious. There is more than a touch of fantasy and that always makes me happy. Truly, my favorite Christmas book in a very long time.

I have been in the mood to read stories set at Christmas time. This was a cute story. I did some scan reading which is normally an automatic two-star rating but I thought it deserved more like a three-star rating. A clean, paranormal romance. Cute idea for the plot.

Previously reviewed on The Good, The Bad and The Unread:

An all-too-common trope in stories set at this time of year is the visit by a stranger, who shows our hero or heroine ‘the true meaning of Christmas.’ Admittedly, it’s a popular, tried-and-tested theme that’s been used for well over a century, and some authors still manage to put a new gloss onto the basic story concept. However, it’s all too easy for tropes to either become clichés, or for the author’s attempt to put a new twist on the the

I was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That in no way changes my opinion or review.

I absolutely love Christmas books, and even though it is July, and hotter than heck outside, I can still enjoy a feel-good Christmas story. “No Christmas like the Present” can be considered a modern-day twist on “A Christmas Carol”, with a super handsome Angel (if you want to consider him that?).

Lindsey is always so busy during the holidays- writing and sending out count

No Christmas Like the Present by Sierra Donovan was the book I read on the heels of my Retribution of Mara Dyer book hangover. It took me a loooooong time to get into it. It's also a really light and care free holiday read so it was super easy to pick up and set down. I should add that it made it perfect for the holiday season.

Lindsay is the type of girl, I can sympathize with. I actually think a lot of people can. Lindsay has a lot of ide

I received No Christmas Like the Present from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

At first I was hesitant to read a Christmas book in October. However, two pages into this story my reservations were gone. Sierra Donovan had me in the mood for a seasonal read. Add in the fact that we were having some gloomy, chilly weather and I was under a blanket with an apple pie scent burning... It truly felt like the holiday season.

Like many people, twenty-nine year old Lindsay is stressed about Chri

I must say this is an interesting Christmas story to read. I've not watched Christmas Carol and this book makes me wanna find that show and watch it.

Lindsay loved Christmas but her to-do list for Christmas and a past baggage had bogged her down over the years that made the season no longer enjoyable. Watching her favorite show Christmas Carol while making some fudge for friends/relatives/colleagues, she was shocked when the doorbell rang and she found herself looking at the very "Fred" from Chri

Thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review.

So this book. Ok at first I was all ummmmmm, is it really going to be a guy comes to help her get in the Christmas spirit and then leave. Most of all I was worried he was going to help her find someone else. I liked Fred. I thought his character was neat, even if I didn't know what he was. Was he a ghost or an angel?

Alright so we don't really know what Fred is, we just know that he's there to help Lindsey to

(4.5 Stars) Lindsay seems to have lost the Christmas spirit. She's so wrapped up in the hustle and bustle, that she just can't slow down to enjoy the traditions and simple things about the season. "Fred" shows up at her door--straight out of her favorite movie, A Christmas Carol, or so it seems. He's sent to help her correct a mistake from her past and to help her find the Christmas spirit once more. But he always helps her find a little more than either of them bargained for.

Lindsay could be me

My very first book by Sierra won't be my last...What a wonderful Christmas made me think about the true
meaning of Christmas.
When Lindsay Miller finds a stranger come to her house, this must be a dream she thinks to herself. Yet he won't go away.
He has come to her for a reason, and it's on a need to know basis. The think is some new things arise about the reason what
his assignment involves..he has a deadline too complete. It's one he's not sure he can follow through. So h

We are all familiar with "A Christmas Carol" and the modernized version "Scrooged"; now Sierra Donovan brings up "No Christmas Like the Present." Lindsay is "all" about Christmas on the outside: shopping to find the perfect gifts, batches of Christmas fudge for everyone and personalized Christmas cards. But, is she missing the real meaning of Christmas. Knocking on her door appears Fred - to help her find her Christmas Present, "fix" her Christmas Past and find her Christmas Future. This will ...more
