Great book to explain plot and structure by showing what is needed and explaining why it is needed and then giving strong examples that are easy to follow. Towards the end it becomes more about a novel than for short stories, but still worth reading and a lot of valuable information. Well written, clear, and enlighting.

The best of the series, imo. Great practical tips and exercises on plotting, plus he makes it sound like absolutely anyone can write a book.

Lead, Objective, Conflict, Knockout. 3 acts. Create tension. It's good about hammering that formula into you.

I liked Kress's Beginnings, Middles & Ends better, but this book still taught me a lot.
