Dark Desires After Dusk is another fantastic book in the Immortals After Dark series.

I lovedalmost everything about this book. Cade and Holly, the hero and heroine, were simply magical together, and, frankly, a hoot. Holly–with her over-the-top OCD behaviorand her nerdish outlook–and Cade–a true but lovable cad–were the perfect pair and I couldn't seem to get enough of their offbeat and very provocative relationship.

I'm sure you're wondering why I gave this book a somewhat lower ratin...more

I really really liked this and once more, I couldn't put it down. Cadeon was a great hero who had me laughing with his lines for the first half and really feeling his pain for the second. He had a really hard choice to make and I did like the way he handled it. He never strayed from the character we've come to know from the previous books, but managed to charm me and make me care for him.

Holly however, was another matter. She was the first heroine I was totally indiferrent about. I did...more

I didn't expect to like Dark Desires After Dusk this much, but somehow I ended up really enjoying it.
I like to pick up a romance book from time to time, and I prefer historical romance, but last night I was craving for something para-normally/romantically/sizzling hot that had a " virginal miss goody two shoes meets an adorable but dangerous bad boy" vibe to it.

Didn't think I'll find a book that met these criteria. But guess what?
I did!!!!

Another IAD book done… and still wanting more. Yes, I loved this one as well. Very much indeed *evil grin*. Now there can’t be a review of mine without me picking on the cover. WTF may I ask? I don’t see Cade looking like that AT ALL and another thing, where are his horns? Yes he may have cut them or something but still. I want Cade on the cover having horns. Is it too much to ask? A friend of mine, Aly, sent me a pic of how she sees him and I think it’s just perfect. Here he...more

A+, hilarious, smokin’ hot! Cade is one hot honey with his sexier than sexy South African accent and Holly just shines alongside him! He's rough around the edges but god does he ever know how to make her happy :D The sexual tension is there from the get go building right up to an explosion, lots of snippy dialog and banter between the characters. I loved his “pet names” for her: pet, poppet—you could just hear him saying it to bug her and did it ever get on her nerves! And the sex whooooa!!! Sen...more

What a great, funny and sexy book.

After Mockingjay, I was feeling a little too depressed and finded myself in the desperate need of some fun reading. Luckily, I decided to grab Dark desires after dusk and had an amazing time with certain daemon. *wiggles brows*

I've been going back and forth with this series for a while, everybody seems to love it, but honestly, I didn't care too much for the first three books. I'm glad I stick with it, because things have been progressively getting better and no...more

Okay after this one in the series, maybe I have the hots for a demon now. This series is getting better and better. now I have to wait for the next one! Well, Bugger!!!

Cadeon Woede is a rage demon. Holly Ashwin is a newly turned Valkryie. HMMMM How to explain???

Cade screwed up bigtime a few centuries ago and he has never lived it down. Because of his callousness his brother, Rydstrom lost his throne. See Cade is a Demon Prince and was supposed to take his brothers place in his absence but he did...more

Kresley Cole did it again. This sixth book in the Immortal After Dark series was great!

Even though the key element of the series (where the hero and heroine come to terms with the fact that they are each other's fated partner) is the same throughout the books, Cole manages to give every book it's own twist. Each has it's very own feel to it, but all are romantic, steamy, funny and very entertaining.

In Dark Desires After Dusk Cole combined the unapologetic, sexy, sloppy, badass rage demon Cadeon...more

Loved the sense of humor! I laughed at the snappy dialogue between the Holly and Cade--many times. "Whose car is it?" "Not mine." This is one I will have to re-read just for the great laughs! Wonderful characters. Nix! She's got to get her own story soon.

Exceptional writing style and talent! I'm impressed with how the author has managed to keep each book, so far, in this series so unique. What an imagination! Reading this series in order, I sense there was a plan for these characters. The way Ho...more

I didn't think I'd like Cade. I thought he came across as unfriendly in Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night and I prefered Rydstrom. But... I was wrong. Cade turned out to be a great hero. He must make a very difficult decision: turn Holly over to the evil sorcerer and get the sword for Rydstrom OR keep Holly and let Rydstrom down AGAIN. I understood his decision and felt sorry for him. Again, Nix and her evasive advice seemed more hinderance than help, guess that's typical Nix.

NOOOOO, now I have to wait for the next one!!
I don't know how Kresley Cole's 'Immortals After Dark' series keeps getting better, but it does. Each book in this series has ramped up the plotline and put us further on the road towards the Accession. We've learned about Valkyries, Demons, Vamps, Lykae (weres), Ghosts, Phantoms, Wraiths, and Fae. (If I left any entities out, please don't hurt me.) Each with different strengths and weaknesses.

I thought this story was very enjoyable mostly due to the...more

This is book 6 in the series and is the story of Cadeon Woede finding his mate. Books #5 and 6 from this series came out within a month of each other, so I read them back to back. As Cole often does, the stories overlap, which makes them even more interesting to read. Book #7 is due out in the fall, and my money is on a further overlap - Rydstrom Woede's story, which is hinted at in book 6. This story is set in modern-day America and is funny, sexy, and extremely entertaining. I highly recommend...more

I like most of the book 2/3's of it were good, really it was. It was the 1/3 of the book with Holly the incredibly unbelievable virginal, brainiac, PHD candidate, OCD'd out, inconstant character. *She wrecked the Veyron, how could anyone like a person that does that ?* I didn't believe in her at all, yeah I was shaking my head almost every time she opened her mouth or her thoughts.

WHEN A BAD BOY MEETS A VERY GOOD GIRL!!!

I enjoyed this latest instalment to the Immortals after Dark series, we got a little something new. Demons aren’t new to the series but it’s the first book where it revolves entirely around them. Once again Miss Cole delivers fun and quirky characters, intense and action packed situations.

Cadeon is a Rage Demon which basically means when he gets pissed you will know it, his horns will straighten and he will look like Satan himself or Hellboy without the ta...more

“Gods, I love it when you talk mathy to me.”

I love this series because it is filled with humor, love, sensuality, and adventures.
The 6th installment of the series perfectly represents these ideas.

Cadeon is a very peculiar character. He is brash and naughty. He is a shrewd and uninhibited mercenary, but at the same time he is infinitely devoted and attentive. I loved how he managed Holly’s disease, and helped her. He was in a very complicated situation, and had to make a serious decision, and he...more

“I want to go, but not alone with him! I don’t suppose you could hire someone less…” “Incredibly hot? With less lickable horns and a less sexy Sith Ifrican accent?”

I went into DARK DESIRES AFTER DUSK liking it quite a bit like the last few books, but came out frustrated and annoyed. I think I made it a little halfway before I started getting annoyed and I guess part of that is because I found the heroine incredibly annoying. It was an exhausting read and I think my expectations may have been...more

First I would just like to get something across to everyone... *cough* CADEON IS MINE!!! NO-ONE ELSE WILL THINK OF HIM. DREAM OF HIM. FANTASISE ABOUT HIM. OR I WILL SPANK YOU WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR LIFE!!!! *cough*

Okay, so finally we get to meet Cadeon Woede, *sigh* aka Cade the Kingmaker, mercenary and second in line to the throne of the Rage Demons. As well as his fated Female, Holly Ashwin the Tulane Math instructor and PhD candidate with an emphasis on formal and computational cryptograph. A...more

I consider Cadeon Woede, the hero of the fifth installment of Kresley Cole's widely popular Immortals After Dark paranormal romance series, to be the less intense of the males in the series thus far- although he's experienced some big-time regrets in his past.

After losing his father and eldest brother to war, Rydstrom Woede, Cade's next oldest brother who is now first in line for the throne of their demon Kingdom, sends Cade away to be fostered out to ensure the succession to the throne. One fat...more

So I started reading this series to fill the time till the next Black Dagger Brotherhood book comes out, but I've actually started to enjoy this series, and "Dark Desires After Dusk" might be my fave so far. I thought it was funny and sweet, and I caught myself laughing and smiling like a weirdo when Cadeon and Holly would banter back and forth.
I HATE THE COVERS!

Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night... Dark Needs at Night's Edge... Dark Desires After Dusk... is anyone else waiting for the Kresley Cole novel called "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"?
And the cover... uck. Don't get me started on the cover.

So I was really looking forward to this book after reading the above mentioned books-with-silly-names, because I had come to really like Cade as a character based on the glimpses we got of him from those books. I think I probably went in with too-high expectations...more

Since the plot and characters are outlined elsewhere, I’ll keep it brief.

Immediately I felt thrown into the action, there’s no lag or drag, the action is right in your face from the first page although eventually the self defence classes tended to get a bit tedious but necessary as events unfolded.

(view spoiler)[Cadeon Woede a rage demon and a mercenary first came to my attention in Wicked Deeds on a Winters Night when he made a provoking play for Bowen MacRieves fated mate Mariketa The Awaited...more

I just plowed through the entire Immortals After Dark series in 5 days. I'm not going to bother reviewing all of them, even though I enjoyed every single one of them. I just wanted to comment on this one because it was my favorite. This book was HILARIOUS. I absolutely loved the banter between Cadeon and Holly. He was soooo cocky, and she was such a smarta$$, they kept me laughing, even when things were serious. (Whose car is this? Not ours).

I plowed through this series so fast, because of all...more

Okay, it's official I am addicted to this series. I've read these books in a hap-dash manner, out-of-order completely, that is, and I can attest that each book stands well on its own merit. So, have no worries on that part if you happen to stumble across one and want to read it, go for it.

Alright, 'nuff gabbing, on to the book. Cade & Holly's relationship begins when she is targeted by other Lore beings who've determined that she is the "Vessel" the woman whose been prophesied who will carry...more

OMG these titles. Seriously. As bad as the covers! If I remember correctly the cheezy guy on the cover doesn't even match the description of the character of Cade. I thought Cade was blond or something. Anyways, just goes to show us chicks must be as much a bunch of suckers for looks too if they book that campy fellow on the cover and it sells more books. Anyways, love the characters. This Kresley Cole author does very well with characters that are likable. She also does well with a the same und...more

“Cadeon, can you hear me?"

He didn't open his eyes. "Nothing wrong with my ears."

"Of course not." She laid the cloth on his forehead. "So . . you and Tera seemed close."

"Been through a lot."

"Was she your girlfriend?"

He gave a laugh that sounded like a grunt. "Not at all."

"And you really didn't sleep with Imatra?"

"Bloody hell, noooo, I didn't . . . She's a slag."

"Then why did you kiss her?" Holly asked.

"Directions. . . and to see."

"To see what?"

"That it wouldn't be all that bad without you."

This was interesting. "Did you make a determination?"

He gave a bitter laugh. "It'll be all that bad."

Oh, Cadeon. "You've known I was your female for a year?" He nodded. "Why I would be chosen for you?"

"Fate decides . . . who I can be most satisfied with."

Nibbling her lip, she asked, "Have you slept with anyone else since you knew it was me?"

"Gave a halfhearted try for a witch . . . she wanted a werewolf instead."

There was no getting around it--Holly was jealous of the witch.

But then Cadeon said, "And I wanted you.”
