“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!“
Ronald Reagan June 12, 1987
Berlin
When I hear this quote I can’t help but agree with the Gipper’s impassioned plea for children’s book authors to tear down the literary “fourth wall“, and allow characters to speak directly to readers. “Big and Little” succeeds at drawing in readers by making them the audience. An entertaining flap book that will work well individually or with groups of listeners.

This is a fun book to read aloud with children. Simple narrative, and words that are easy for beginning readers. The pages open up and add a bit of whimsy to the story. The best part of the story is the ending where you find out that everything is based on perspective and that things are not always as they seem.

Super cute flap picture book about an elephant's death defying jump into a glass of water!
(Of course, there's a twist.)

Used for my Big, Bigger, Biggest storytime. Fun story with a great surprise ending.

There isn't much in terms of plot or character in this book. Instead, its all about suspense and perspective.

This is an awesome book for babies! All of the pages open up which Caleb loves, and the art is simple, often in black and white which is easier for new babies to see. Caleb couldn't stop kicking the whole time we read it.
