Shelves: kid-non-fiction
This one is for the burgeoning cook. It exposes both old and new hand in the kitchen to some ethnic recipes. Plus it gives some historical background. Learn when certain ethnic groups landed on our shores. Some groups changed their recipes to what they could find here, and others waited until they could find the right ingredients. Either way, this changed America’s plate.

I read this with my mother and enjoyed it immensely. The book has neat information with occassional recipes. The author has a seperate book for African influences on cooking...and possibly native American.
