I like this one because it's the nativity with a different twist. It's told from the barn animal's points of view. They all work hard to prepare the barn for their special guests. It's surprising what one can learn from a simple Children's book, I think the subtle message here is: "What are WE doing to prepare for the Savior"?

A sweet Christmas story told from the perspective of the animals awaiting the arrival of Joseph and Mary on Christmas Night, They each do something to prepare the stable for the birth of baby Jesus. We love this story.
I'm looking for good Christmas stories for toddlers. This one was okay if you inserted the animal sounds yourself (though I don't know what an eider is or what sound it makes. Jen?).
I adore this little Christmas book. The repetition and cadence make this a great read-aloud and the "expectation" theme is perfect for advent.
A picture book for young children. Told through simple sentences, the animals of the stable are preparing for the holy family's arrival.

A really nice story of the animals anticipation of the birth of Jesus. Good for little children.
So simple... rhyming words make the story flow so beautifully to tell the Christmas story.
Very sweet Nativity story to go along with waiting during the Advent season.

Jesus Lives!
Perfect for toddlers.
This is a good book for kindergarten or first grade because it is simple for them to read and it is a neat way of telling a part of the story of Christmas. I know its probably not a book you can use in public school. I think its a good example of writing because it gives each animal a voice and make the students wonder who is coming. I would use this story in my classroom to have them write about who is coming to there house using a similar form of the book.

Very cute Advent story. I totally didn't expect it until at least half way through. My son really liked all the animals and even asks for it from time to time still 6 months later.
This is a book about Christmas. It talks about the animals in the barn where Jesus was born. Related to Social Studies because of the religious aspect.
The nativity story from the animals POV. I love the woodcut illustrations in this book. The simple pictures and rhythm really pull my kids in.
