This book is a great find for parents who are into yoga. Yoga comes naturally to toddlers as this first book of yoga shows. It is filled with colorful illustrations of nine different easy-to-learn poses. Illustrated "Yoga Babies" show each pose and the opposite page illustrates an animal that will help little ones remember the pose.

At the end of the book there are photos of real toddlers demonstrating the poses. The last page gives the actual “yoga” names plus a written “how-to”. This is a grea...more
Simple yoga poses for toddlers based on animal movements. Each move is pictured in human and animal form and back matter includes tips for parents and caregivers as well as photos of real toddlers interpreting the moves. Recommended for toddlers/PreK.
I like the combination of the simple text for kids with resources for adults (note, practice tips, photographs, and explanation of poses).

Shortly after my daughter began walking, she started getting into the "downward dog" position all the time. So we started commenting on it as her "doing yoga." And then we found this book at the library. Even for a parent who isn't especially into yoga, it's a great book for encouraging your toddler to move more. The colorful illustrations show a baby doing each pose and on the opposite page, an animal engaged in the same pose to help the child remember better. In addition to learning a few yoga...more
Disclaimer: I read the French translation of this book. Still, I loved it. It's a particularly great book for children who need to be engaged physically (can't sit still) and, in French, it's a great way to introduce vocabulary. I'm not any good at yoga but I think it would be wonderful to wear clothing comfortable enough to demonstrate since I think it would help get the kids involved; in my opinion self-consciousness has no place in storytime anyway since it's all about the kids. I will be usi...more
Fun illustrations that are perfect for the busy toddler mind. This book is a great starter for toddler yoga with a full set of start up poses and parent suggestions in the back. I love that they focus on play rather than perfection. Parents can move along with their child or just let them flip through the book and imitate. The easy poses are a great way to start a busy parent/child day, or an awesome wind down in the afternoon. Best toddler yoga book I've seen so far.
It is a hit with Little MIss (18 months), and I love it, too. It is a simple way of introducing some new movements with your little one. It offers less than 10 poses and compares each to an animal movement. It is fun for little guys and girls to have new ways of pretending about animals.
Great yoga book for toddlers on up. Focuses on fun and child abilities, relating various poses to animals. My daughter loves to look at the pictures and try the poses.
Love. My little toddlers love to do the activities in this book.
A fun simple introduction to yoga.
