No, this is not a pwer-trip book for singles with some cheesy Christian tagline saying that being alone doesn't mean being lonely.

For anyone who loves nature, hiking, and Vermont, this is a really nice story of a woman who hikes the long trail and records her journey. Having grown up hiking in the mountains of Vermont, I recognized many of the names and mountains she describes. It really makes me want to go back for a few weeks and live in the woods.

Not very specific, but I did pick up some good tips (or more things to worry about?). Nice overview of one woman's trip.

It's a short book and appealed to to me mostly because of my plans to hike the northern part of the Long Trail this summer in the same direction. I read it to get a sense of what to expect and it gave me that, to some degree, but it wasn't written all that well and I found myself wishing for more detail. Maybe because the guidebooks for the Long Trail aren't as good as resources for the Appalachian ...more
