A children's book that a son creates with his parents to try to make sense of war. It is powerful and entertaining at the same time. It has a great companion website to comment on, and some of the profits from the sale of the book go to Doctors Without Borders. Awesome.

I read the comments from the author's parents at the end of this book and really thought from a parent's perspective that it must have been so difficult to explain why there is war in the world to a child. I can only imagine how difficult that must have been.

I thought this was beautifully subversive, but then I actually read the back of the book, and it's not subversive at all! Nice little story with cute pictures to try and explain war.

I like the perspective that people who go to war are too "chicken" to address their problems in a more productive way and I could imagine this book sparking some good discussions with kids. But I think there are some big holes in the transformation as the animals become peaceful. Why?
