Okay, so let me start off by saying that I'm pretty biased towards any cookbook put out by Yard Dog Press (who are also responsible for the Four Bubbas of the Apocalypse). Especially if that cookbook happens to deal with Indian food, which for my money is the world's finest ethnic cuisine there is. If you add in Texas sensibility in ingredient selection and food preparation, well, you've hit the trifecta. That Y

This is a little gem of a cookbook, the first I ever read on Indo-Pak food. The book is worth buying for the general hints and the recipe "Killer Chicken Corn Soup" alone, not to mention other tasty info.

Why four stars instead of five? Only because the packaging does not compete with other cookbooks in this category. Texistani was literally tossed together when friends of the author started a publishing house. The author simply typed things up and submitted it. So there are no pictures, and it's

For those who want to learn to cook Indian and Pakistani food, but are afraid to try...

If you like to cook, or if you are just starting out, this cookbook is written to bring you up to speed on Indian and Pakistani food. Most of the recipes are Punjabi style, and were collected from friends of the author. Although small, the book contains only recipes that have been tried and completed successfully by American cooks.
