she runs a local cafe their 2 girls keep them busy. things start to wear on her as she's saddled with the girls
all the time and the cafe, the inheritance money he invested badly that her store could've really used. so she starts
making some changes in the cafe after spending a dinner at a resort 40 miles away. it has a tree gr...more

Genevieve Ahrans moves into Glenbrooke and buys the Wildflower Cafe. This book is different from the other books in the Glenbrooke series since it is about a middle aged married woman and is not about a younger single woman. This story is about Genevieve falling in love again with her husband and also about her spiritual growth. The only bad thing that I have to say about the story is one part where she is invited to one of the women’s houses for a luncheon and the woman springs on her at the la...more

I have had this series of 8 books for a long time (about five years) but had only got through the first two. This week, since it was Spring Break, I decided to read the entire series and finished this last one today. I believe that this last book was the best of the entire series and more realistic (although all the books were sweet with a wonderful theme of God's restoration). Robin did a great job of completing all the characters of the Glenbrooke books.

This is the 8th book in a series. It is a good clean Christian book about several families that live in Glenbrooke and day to day life, trials and solutions to life. Each book in the series is about primarily about a different family in that town, but includes the other families that are part of the whole series.

Probably my least favorite of the Glenbrooke series. I love Robin Gunn and her characters, but I think this particular book was dealing with more adult issues and problems a married couple would deal with, not a fifteen-year-old girl. But, all in all, still a very enjoyable read.

Accidentally read this first before I realized it was a series, so I began the series and read it again after reading the others. Enjoy the author's style and the way she integrates the biblical message into her characters lives and relationships.

This last book in the Glenbrooke series was a nice addition to the usual formula, thanks to the main character already being married. Her marriage seems to be on the rocks and this, along with the foundering cafe she is running, is her challenge. Reconnecting with her faith and allowing herself to befriend the other women in the story bring everything else around quite nicely. Glenbrooke remains the impossible small town that it is but the characters are still lovely to read about and I love the...more

Amazing ending to the series.. I took a quote from it --"A single wild flower, given with love is better than a dozen perfect roses given with indifference" and put it on the wall in my office where I see it day after day.. The whole book is about that quote. Is your marriage fancy for appearance's sake? Is there true love in all the gifts you exchange with your husband?? I love the chalanges this book provides and an amazing friendship between all charcters of the series...

I love this and each...more

I enjoy books that discuss people falling in love or back in love with their spouses. It is more realistic than many romantic ideas.

This book was a little different from others I've read in the Glenbrooke series so far. Instead of focusing on a love story about two people meeting and falling in love and starting a life together, this one focused on a couple married for several years with three children. It was a cute and touching story of this couple re-falling in love with each other and re-committing to their marriage after having grown apart, living in a stale marriage. It was a cute love story, a little different from he...more

I didn't like this book as much as the others it kind of made me feel guilty. Not a good thing for a book to read for pleasure.

A great book. I really like this series.

Nice finish to the Glenbrooke series.

A different approach from the other books in the series with Genevieve already being married but it's a nice change. Great having all the characters back from the earlier books (would have been nice to have family trees to keep everyone & their kids straight!).

I really enjoyed this book. It touched me deeply. It made me think about things I don't like to think about. :) Great ending to this wonderful series.

This story focuses on Genevieve (who is in Book 4: Sunsets) and her family. She has many obstacles in her life and can't figure out what to do about them, until one day she realizes that SHE is the one who has set them up in the first place.

Good fast read!

Another fantastic re-read, and it fit right in with the communion meditation at church this morning as well. Broken things ... it was a rich spiritual book, as well as a delightful "romance" of a husband and wife. Beautiful visions of God's love for us, and a really inspiring read.

and now i'm done with the Glenbrooke series. this one was very different... all about an older woman who falls back in love with her husband. still, though, they don't hold the same interest to me as they did in high school (go figure).

It was an interesting story and very different from the rest in the series. I loved how the wife brought life back in to the marriage with the help of God.
Amy
good simple story. not a hard read and very predictable. but there are some life lessons that don't hurt to be repeated.

Robin’s first grade teacher wrote on her report card, “Robin keeps the entire class entertained at rug time with her stories.”

Even with such an early affirmation, Robin didn’t think much about becoming a writer during high school or college. She was more intrigued by the idea of traveling to foreign lands and telling people about God’s love.

But Robin’s husband also noticed her gift for storytellin...more
