I love delving into the inexplainable and the unseen. My entire life I have been on a search for truth, trying to decipher the good from the bad. This book makes it into the good pile. I'm eagerly waiting to try out kinesiology and see if it works as described in the book.

This book focuses on the deciphering what is true and what is false through applied kinesiology. I must admit it seems absolutely unscientific, the technique itself is very controversial. Through applied kinesiology the au...more

This is the most significant book I have read in a long time. Power Vs. Force explains the connection between individual levels of consciousness and human behavior.

This is important because every decision we make and every action we take is driven by our individual level of consciousness.

Dr. David R. Hawkins uses Applied Kinesiology as a tool for doing consciousness research. Using Applied Kinesiology, he developed a map of consciousness that ranges from 1 to 1000. According to conscio...more

An excellent in depth study of the little studied field of consciousness. Ever wondered why people do what they do, and why you do too? Dr. Hawkins explains how the actions and consequences of our lives are actually determined by focus of our consciousness. Fear begets fear, love begets love. It could be likened to a scientific proof that 'you reap what you sew.'
In addition, however, he presents us with a method for verifying truth from falsehood. This is known as kinesiological testing. Essent...more

This is an amazing book that details, (from subtitle) "The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior". It is engaging to peek into the psychology, both conscious and subconscious, of the underlying behavior patterns and choices made throughout life. Yes, you may find this book on the self help shelves (shudder!), but in this case, it will actually help many of us to overcome negative behaviors, converting them into positives. As I like to say, we can all use less "nega-thought"...more

Anti-psychiatry book, for those who like to experiment with mental processes. It has a very detailed explanation on how to do the experiment in order to replicate the results, but the scientific bases is not as detailed. I read the book and I can not diferentiate between truth or false in a lot of situations, but the book gave me good ideas about life and joy: "the key of joy is uncoditional kindness to all life, including one's own..."

This is like The Secret, only harder to understand. The concepts are steeped in deep, difficult to understand jargon; however, if you can make it through you'll be a rocket scientist! I actually learned a lot! Kinesiology and muscle testing are explored ... truth exposed. In a nutshell (if you've ever been to a Chiropractor or the like that does this) muscle testing is a science that can tell you what your body, or anyone else's for that matter, needs and knows.

This book shapes worldviews.
The information presented in this book ranks among the most influential in my entire life. It is clear, reproducible, verifiable, and significant. I don't know what I can add to what others have already said about it. However, if you have stumbled upon or have been drawn to this book in some way before, but have not read it yet, please hesitate no longer. Read it if you will.

Heavy read - but it WILL change the way you understand social psychology/sociology forever. We're talking quantum physics here, People. And when you finally see the difference between Power and Force - their constant tug-of-war over the masses, it leaves you no choice but to try to raise your "level" immediately to one capable of bringing more Power to the world.

Interesting and significant hypothesis is put forward in this book. Dr. Hawkins co-authored the work "Orthomolecular Psychiatry" with Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling. This book may be the most important book I've ever read...I'm half way through and I'm finding it sooooo powerful in terms of application to my life.
Everyone, read this book!!

I consider this book to be a touchstone of sorts. I've read it twice, and felt differently both times. If you're searching for direction on a spiritual plane, its a good place to start. I use the basic premise in my attempts at parenting quite a bit. Mostly to keep myself sane! Don't be put off by the kinesiology bit, the underlying truths within the text are profound.

This book gives you a clear sense of where you are in the Universe and what you are bringing to it- hugely enlightening- and I now use the map of consciousness daily- this book was fantastic in so many ways it was worth reading to step up another level of empowerment.

EVERYONE should read this book. Facinating. The author has come up with a "scale" to test levels of consciousness. Anything below 200, is considered negitive energy and will prevent one from moving forward in life. Amazing. I will re-read this one over and over.

Just a cool way to look at the world - a new twist on life without giving up your religion or anything like that. This is more like a textbook, so don't expect to read it in one sitting, but if you do, please call me.

Either way this guy is pretty good and every worker in the study of psychosis ought to read this book.

Had it been more popular this would be a shoe-in for Most Overrated Book of the 20th Century (MOB20C).

And if there was a way to assign negative stars, this book would be a sucking black hole. I didn't like it in a big, bad way.

This (audio) book really opened my eyes to understand consciousness. Dr. Hawkins exposes his research done mainly through applied kinesiology and covers many aspects of humanity.
