Finding a place in a society where the -supposedly- right way to lead your life includes soul-crushing cubicle jobs, long frustrating hours wasted before a computer screen and an immense weigh on your shoulders constantly reminding you that without money you are a nobody was an EXTREMELY frustrating - and impossible to carry out - task for me.

When I was a child - and also during my idealistic teenage years - I used to have spectacular visions of myself as a grown-up woman: there was me hitting t

With the barrage of bad news & evil on the news these days, it's hard not to be disappointed & depressed with the depravity of mankind. That's why I can't adequately express how refreshing & heartwarming it was to read this wonderful, inspiring, admirable, & encouraging story of one couple who set out to fulfill their dream of traveling the world &, along the way, experiencing the beautiful kindness of strangers all over the world. I loved reading testimony after testimony of ...more

The book is a real life adventure. An married Argentine couple invite us to read and discover their dream as they travel from Buenos Aires to Alaska in a 1928 restored Ford. The book brings out real world examples of the goodness of humanity and countless stories of their encounters with the various people they come into contact with in the Americas that help them achieve their goal. As you can imagine an automobile from 1928 is going to have a fair share of mechanical needs. In one case after a ...more

An incredible story of two Argentinians who followed their dream to reach Alaska over land in a 1928 Ford. Inspiring evidence that human beings very much love to be part of a dream larger than themselves and are willing to sacrifice a lot of not so important things in the process. As the authors say: "you have to live light because everything you need in life you will find along the way". The most difficult is just to start such a journey, to let the ingrained fear of setting out on the first ...more

The story was cool, a couple who leaves everything behind to travel across the Americas. Their message is nice, too, that anyone can and should chase their dreams, it's just a matter of beginning.

The thing that bothered me and made it rough going was that the writing is terrible and so much is repetitive. The book could be about half as long if the repetitions were removed. However, this is self-published, and was written by Argentinians in Spanish, then translated with the help of friends. So

No travel stories are ordinary and Spark Your Dream is the most unique of all as it is about the journey to chase dreams. As how they put it, the toughest part of the journey is to begin, when they have everything; and the most enjoyable part of the journey is when they ran out of money, also when they have nothing. Not unorthodox, my common sense questioned: "How could one put himself in such challenging position?" But my heart told me: "How else would you find out the hidden beauty in human ...more

After reading this book, you are going to feel like there is nothing you can’t do. It's an inspirational true story about a couple who had a dream of traveling from Argentina to Alaska in a 1928 Graham-Paige. They never let their fear get in the way of their dream.

Regardless of the number of challenges encountered along the way, the couple find ways to triumph. The book sucked me into their journey and had me rooting for them as though I had something to gain. The reader will also discover a hug

This book is so inspirational. It's hard to be upset or stressed when reading it because Herman and Cande are so optimistic and so happy accomplishing their dream. I would recommend it to anyone, but especially those who like travelogues, inspiring writing, and hopeless romanticism (and I mean that in the best way possible). If this book doesn't drive you to start your dream, I don't know what will.

Terrific and inspirational story. The couple are remarkably open and caring and the pages of the book are bursting with all the details of their travels and particularly of the people that they meet. That said, I found myself skimming over many parts as they seem to have put in every detail of daily life. Of course, being that it was translated from Spanish may be part of the problem, but ultimately it was/is a great story of an interesting family.

A true story of a couples adventurous dream trip from Argentina to Alaska. It was inspiring to read of the details of their trip and the difficulties they were able to overcome despite the odds being against them. It also showed the goodness of people in general as many stepped up to help them, regardless of their circumstances.

The most amazing true story I've ever read. Met them at the international book fare in Buenos Aires... common people that became rich in their hearts and souls.
This book teaches that if you'd really love to do have to do it! You'll always find some help to make your dreams come true.

My parents actually bought this book from the author. They crossed paths while visiting the redwoods of northern California. My dad didn't have any idea of who this guy was or what he was about when randomly talking to him.

Is an amazing book about the power of dreams. And for the 2 authors, Candelaria and Herman, the dream was the center of all the good things they met on the way....
