The Untethered Soul is a spiritual journey that explains how you can transform your thoughts into more positive thinking while conquering and overcoming your fears and negativity.

I gave all my dearest ones this book for Christmas, hoping that it would provide them the life-changing, peace-inducing charge it gave me. Michael Singer writes clearly and beautifully, providing useful exercises, of how to clear the chattering mind (that gloomy, Eeyore-like "inner roommate") and move to that "I am" place inside where we can simply observe life, and live it purely, without judgment. What a way to enrich an expand life!! Equally valuable, he teaches a simple t

Started off 2011 with this book as my first choice for spiritual sustenance. Michael Singer (Mickey to those of us who live in Gainesville and know him) asks the reader to become conscious of the constant noise and chatter inside our heads, to stop identifying with our thoughts, and become aware of the one who witnesses the thoughts.
Once again, I am being reminded that awareness, consciousness is the key. In order to get there, I have to pay attention to what I am thinking. Isn't that wh More...

This book actually changed me for what I once thought was the better. Recently I have realized that it wasn't for the better at all. It made me believe that emotions were optional, and that we can actually be happy all the time. Not true. I thought it possible for awhile, until I eventually realized that I was just suppressing all of the "unhappy" feelings and was building up negative feelings inside me. I would not recommend this book to anyone who wants to be happily in touch with th

Excellent book. I read it at about the same time as I read The New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and I found to have very similar themes - so if you enjoyed The New Earth you will enjoy this one too. Very deeply spirtual book with very heavy Buddhist leanings but I think that they are principles that could be applied within any religion. I think it's one of those books you would want to keep on hand and it could have different meanings for you each time you read and depending on where you are in you

We all have a little voice inside our heads that constantly narrates all of the events of our lives. It rambles on about the events of the day. It reminds us that the person we are talking to is named Sue. It also makes sure that we remember every bad thing that Sue ever did to us and all the judgments we might have about our current conversation.
Often we get so used to this voice endlessly droning on that we aren't even consciously aware of what this voice is saying or how it subco More...

Michael Singer comes close to explaining how to "let go"...much closer than many authors I've read before. I'll read this book again since I found it so compelling. I still question the concept of letting go of every disturbance that comes to your mind, not only in the fact that it sounds simple yet is hard to do, but also that you don't suppress the emotions that do come up. I think working through emotions is valuable. But allowing them to run your life is not. This book helps you na

I had several of my biggest breakthroughs ever while I was studying this book. I found the true meaning of meditation and self and I learnt the significance of opening the heart and living life as a wonderful experience. If you seek true freedom and happiness, then this book is worth the read. I borrowed my copy, and I am putting this book on my list of purchases for my bookshelf.

Wow... I guess all I can say is, I read this a few months ago and can't remember it! That's pretty much how I felt as I was reading it... it was a book to read, I didn't hate it or wish it would be over quicker... it just wasn't memorable. I really can't remember it!!
In the description from goodreads.com it says... "Throughout, the book maintains a light and engaging tone, free from heavy dogma and prescriptive religious references."... which pretty much sums it up. I gu More...

Very thought-provoking. This book opened up my mind to how thoughts can affect my life, and how I can free myself from negative thought patterns. Also has a very interesting chapter on death - and how we can live life without fear of death. The book is written from a Christian base, but does tie in other religions.

One of the BEST spirituality books I have ever read. Michael takes us on a journey through self and consciousness, breaking into the barriers of your psyche and how you create your world. He provides a wonderful picture on living an enlightened life. A MUST MUST MUST read if you enjoyed The Power Of Now...

Who are you? Do you realize how many thoughts are actually occuping your mind throughout a day and being aware of them is really the first step of sorting them out...or are you holding on to painful memories? Are you living fully? This book was my first exploration of inner space and I will read it again for sure.

This book is worth reading and re-reading. I rarely read any non-fiction book from cover to cover but I felt like each page of this book was made of gold. It's a wonderful and thorough invitation to awareness and letting go.

A little new-agey, but this book really struck a chord with me. A very interesting book on how to view life. Like most self-help, psychology books, it could have been half as long and given the same message/

A must-read book on consciousness and the spiritual journey. Also listen to the author's CD audio on the Untethered Soul. He's quite the jovial, uplifting fellow indeed!

I have read many books in this genre but this is one of the very best. A clear and succint description concerning our inner workings. There is no New Age hype in here. Just real practical guidance.

I really enjoyed this book, and just reading it put me in a calm and content state of mind. I have incorporated a lot of these principles into my perspective on life, but respectfully disagree with a few.

I love this book. I found it really explains eastern philosophy in a very clear way. Without being too corny, I found it life-changing.

Though it was a bit slow, I found this book to be uncommonly and gently wise. Lots of subtle insights.
