The premise of this book was really good: a biography of Author John Gardner, who was by all accounts an alcoholic, a womanizer as well as author. This book was written by Susan Thornton who was to be his third wife had John not passed away days before their wedding. Sound like a good book? What prevented it from getting more than two stars?
