Best of the series, I think. Fast-moving story, and great historical context.

Wow.

The subject matter of the book was good. The protagonists are interesting and likeable, which makes the novel easy to follow. I read it in its original language, which is always nice.

This was my first venture to the Hamilton series. Actually I didn't know it was so. I knew there was a swedish character named "Hamilton" as I'd seen a couple movies (not that good) of him.

Had to block away my memories of the movies when I realised I was reading a "Hamilton book".

Liked the book itself. The suspense and all the cliffhangers inbetween the chapters. Made me want to read more from Guillou

Jan Guillou is talented; it's hard to dispute that. This revival of his hero Carl Hamilton isn't the best book he has written though.
