"Scraps of Paper" by Kathryn Meyer Griffith was a wonderful mystery read that only this author can give to the reader. This author did a good job with this mystery read with had 'secrets from the past' and was there really a ghost in Abigail's new house? How did Abigail Sutton end up here? Scraps of Paper had everything I enjoy in a story-a mystery to be solved, secrets from the past, and possibly a ghost in the heroine’s new house.
Ms. Griffith did a wonderful job setting the scene for this small town mystery. The town is even called Spookie and I felt like I was there roaming around viewing everything as the characters went about their business.
There’s a developing love interest for Abigail in the shape of an ex-sherif...more

A 30 year old mystery in a small town is enough to draw you in and the charming and edgy story that follows will keep you reading. I enjoyed the pace and reasoning of the storyline. I liked the introduction of the "scraps of paper" as the intro into the mystery that the heroine finally unravels. You are taken on a trip thru small town America where a mystery is uncovered and there are several suspects that clues start to point to. The heroine is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery des...more
Good summer Sunday afternoon entertainment. Pretty standard storyline with small town setting and characters, with the plot revolving around an old disappearance/murders.
Writing could have been smoother and I didn't connect too well with the main character, who was a female. The author also relied a little too much on what I call the "Bluebeard Syndrome' for some of the plot kinks, the one from the B movies where the girl goes into the basement after she's been told never to go through that door...more

This was a good read. A woman moved to a small town to 'start over' her life. When re-doing an old home that she purchased, she found little scraps of paper that had been stuck in places that no one had noticed and found through the years. As she was finding more pieces, she determined that it was a bit of a murder mystery and that it was children that were hiding the pieces. She just had to solve the mystery, especially since she now owned the home and felt a kinship to the children. Nice littl...more
Although It is apparent who committed the murders; the story of how and why they occurred makes a great story. The relationship between the two main characters is great. The minor characters are well described. The story flowed well and I enjoyed reading it. I look forward to reading further writing by Kathryn Griffith.
