Alexandra Jones has a pretty peachy life. A gorgeous, stinking rich fiancé, her sleazy boss is retiring which means an imminent promotion in a job she loves, and she gets her best friends Jimmy Choos when she dies, although she would prefer her best friend to stick around as long as possible. Obviously.

But when a blast from the past turns up on her doorstep just as her wor

First of all, I just want to say a MAHOOSIVE thank you to the brilliant author, Ellen Faith, for providing me with an ARC of The Story of Us in return for an honest review/ This is the first book that I have genuinely, really, thoroughly enjoyed for a long time, and I honestly cannot recommend it enough.

So, the story begins with Alexandra (Lexi) and Walker, her fiancé.With their wedding on hold, work coming first and Lexi planning to finally get the promotion she's been waiting for, things aren'

I finished The Story of Us by Ellen Faith and I must say it was quite a fun read! We start out by meeting Alexandra Jones (Lexi) and her fiancé, Walker. Walker comes from a wealthy family with snotty parents and you can tell right from the beginning that he is a complete jerk. I mean, they have been engaged for 4 years and hadn’t set a wedding date; there is obviously a reason for that. In walks Lexi’s childhood sweetheart that had taken off and left her to go to France when they were 17. Luke’s ...more

I’m so happy I finally got to read a book by Ellen, she is so lovely and since I’m part of her book tour for her second novel, I had to read this and I fell in love with Ellen’s writing.

Lexi has it all: She’s pretty, she is engaged and she’s about to get a promotion… But then her world is turned upside down and everything changes. It means goodbye fiancée, goodbye job and goodbye England, off to San Francisco with her best friend Rosie.

I liked Lexi immediately. She’s a funny, strong and great ch

Lexi is a smart girl and has a good head on her shoulders. She’s so carefree and charismatic. She has her life mapped out, until her first love comes back into the picture. She starts rethinking the decisions she’s made and questioning if she’s even happy with the way things are going. After finding her fiancé in bed with his blonde secretary the same day she quit her job, Lexi decides she needs a fresh start. A week in San Francisco with her best friend just isn’t enough. While in San Francisco ...more

Can Alexandra’s life get any worse? At first she doesn’t get the promotion she thought she would get and then she catches her boyfriend doing the dirty with his secretary. There is only one way to get her life back on track – an escape to San Francisco.

This is the second book I’ve read recently in which the protagonist “flees” to San Francisco to start a new life. There must be something about this stunning city that inspires so many writers to use this as a setting. I think my next holiday is p

What a fabulous debut from this great writer!! It sucked me in right from the start and I could barely put it down until I finished it! To me it didn't follow the typical romance formula and that's a great thing. I wasn't 100% sure how it would end until the end. This book was filled with such emotion and humor. It's so well written that I felt Lexi's anger, her frustration, her heartbreak, her longing, her humor. She's so real and down to earth. So many books out there have the weak female lead ...more

I won an arc of this book. It sucked me in right from the beginning. I finished this book in less than a day. The author really kept me guessing about what was going to happen next. She has a really amazing style of writing. I was curious about who the heroine was going to end up with because it was never an obvious choice. Just when you think you have it figured out something else happens that just adds to the story. I loved the chocolate lol. I don't want to put up any spoilers because I want ...more

The Story of Us is full of laughter and warmth. Fans of Sophie Kinsella will love this novel! The main character, Lexi, is charming and has the reader rooting for her from the start. The story follows Lexi as her world falls apart around her. She is forced the pick up the pieces and makes some drastic changes to her life. Even with the hardships the story is light and funny. Lexi has two potential loves and the author had me unsure who would ultimately capture Lexi’s heart. The ending left me ...more

A funny, heart warming, page turner of a read that flowed, characters that were relatable (loved the banter between Lexi and Rosie), finished in one book no cliff hanger or trilogy in sight and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside...chic lit at it's best!

I'm REALLY glad I bought this book. Not as dynamic or as slick as the american writers I feel ELLEN FAITH has made a GREAT job of this book. Don't look for FIREWORKS or subtle story lines this is a WELL WRITTEN ROMANTIC tale and VERY ENJOYABLE and I recommend you buying this book.

Alexandra (Alex) Jones has everything in her life. Love of her life, gorgeous apartment, big promotion on sight. Everything is so great. But everything starts to fall apart when she finds her fiance cheating on her. She doesn't get the promotion that she wanted so much, and the guy who renovates her apartment in not anyone else but her first love who moved to France and left her. At the age of th

Thank you to Ellen first of all for sending me this ARC and for asking me to take part in her “The Story of Us” blog tour!

The story is all about Lexi Jones. Lexi is engage to gorgeous, if a bit snobby, Walker and is living in a gorgeous, just the right size according to Lexi, house in London. The extension Walker insists is necessary for their house has an unexpected member of Lexi’s past turning up on the door step just when everything else appear to be going down the swanny. Reading a good book is like a mini-mental vacation for me. It’s all about finding myself in another world, or within someone else’s shoes- an escape if you will, and let’s face it. We all need an escape from time to time.

The Story of Us took me on a mini-mental vacation, and it was just what I needed. Nestled within the imagination of Ellen Faith lives Alexandra “Lexi” Jones, a soon-to-be 30 year-old who is living in England with her

Let me start with I Love stories like this one. They leave you with a warm feeling and sometimes you just need that.

Lexi's life is going good. Really good. Until they aren't. Her life starts to crumble and shake around her and parts of her past are popping up in the present.

She up and leaves her life after a series of events that would test anyones resolve. She takes a trip with her best friend to San Fran and that's when things get interesting. The Story Of Us

When we first meet Lexi she has everything (apart from a lie in on her first weekend off), she has a fiancé, a wonderful career and a fabulous house. This all comes crashing down around her ears first of all first love Luke turns up at her house he is the builder hired to by Walker, Lexi's fiancé to buil the extension. I loved this book from beginning to end! The character of Lexie was such a fun character. She was not the typical dramatic, crazy, stalker. She was bubbly, whimsical, care free. A breath of fresh air!

Lexie is engaged to Walker, a man who can come across as verbally abusive, but you see why when you meet his mother. Seems if you come from money, it is ok to talk down and belittle people in Walker's world. Once she discovers Walker in the shower with his secretary, she realizes how much if her lif

You think you’re having a bad day? Meet Lexi Jones. She doesn’t make the promotion at work she’s been busting her ass for so quits and thumps her sleazy boss in the face. Seeking comfort at home she finds her fiancé having sex with his secretary in the shower and then, intending to offer her comfort, her childhood sweetheart turned best friend introduces her (albeit unwittingly) to his new girlfriend.

When dear friend Rosie invites Lexi out on a fashion shoot with her to San Francsico, Lexi can’t

Trying to find a starting point for this review is hard because I loved everything about this book. Ellen was brought into my life by one of my friends and I am so glad she introduced me to Ellen and her writing or I would have missed out on this masterpiece. From heart swelling joy to screaming at the pages frustration and laugh out loud laughing with tears streaming down my face. I absolutely adore Lexi and I ...more

Oh my word, I LOVED THIS BOOK. I like chick lit and that us what this book is. Main character Lexi comes home to find her fiancé Walker, who I immediately didn't like, shagging in the shower with his secretary. This is after she has punched a colleague on the nose for destroying her chance of a promotion and walks out of her job. Lexi's best friend ever has to go to San Francisco to do a photo shoot and they decide to go together and have some fun in between. While Rosie works with Jason Lexi ...more

While reading this story, one thought kept resurfacing in my mind - complex, complex, complex.
Lexi's life sounded like such a mess. Sometimes was actually hard to read about it - made me wince imagining how I might feel in her shoes...if only for a day.
You gotta admire her ability to just 'cope' with it all, though. This story teaches a few things about toughness. The further I read, the more I wished she got a guardian angel or something.

I am glad I found this book - always nice to read about

Sometimes the best medicine is your best friend and a trip to San Francisco. The Story of Us is a fantastic debut from Ellen Faith. Lexi, her female protagonist is fun and lovable and her leading man is sexy and gorgeous. Bring to the equation the steadfast BFF and over-bearing future mother-in-law and you've got a great mix of characters to take you on a funny and entertaining journey. Ellen Faith also draws you in with her descriptive language. You feel like you're in San Francisco yourself as ...more

I loved this book. I twas fun and witty and a refreshing read.

Lexi seemed to have it all. she was up for a promotion at the job she loves and she is engaged to the man that she loves. Until one day her life is completely turned upside down. The promotion that she thought she was getting didn't happen. So she quits and goes home only to find out that her very rich fiancé proved to be the jerk that I sensed he really was. And then her first love who she hasn't seen in
