I figured that the new year was a good time to read this Dr. Peale book on positive thinking. Good reminders that we are in charge of our reactions to things and that God is ever there beside us.

The Positive Principle Today by Norman Vincent Peale is an extension or companion of The Power of Positive Thinking. It could be read by itself as enough information is presented for the reader to understand what the author is saying, but I think the target audience is those who have read the original book.

The "Today" of the book is the mid-1970s. This results in some of the then-contemporary examples out-of-date (I have never heard of some of the people whom Peale assumes the reader will recogn

I found this book gives practical ideas on how to be positive in a negative world and through tragedies, difficulties and problems. The author gives many case studies of how these principles have worked in other people's lives and how to apply them.

Most of the concepts if The Secret cane from here. Peale writes as very conservative christian which will not be to everyone's liking. I first read this when I was in sales but the concepts work on all fields of life. If you've heard about the law of attraction here's where it started.

This book really needs to be updated. Very good for being written 40 years ago. Same principles can be applied in today's society.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale (1898–1993) was a minister and author (most notably of The Power of Positive Thinking) and a progenitor of the theory of "positive thinking".

Peale was born in Bowersville, Ohio. He graduated from Bellefontaine High School, Bellefontaine, Ohio. He has earned degrees at Ohio Wesleyan University (where he became a brother of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta) and Boston Unive
