I'm still not sure how I feel about this book. At first glance it seems the perfect kind of poetry for me--deeply steeped in religious iconography, mostly composed like micro-fiction in dense, short paragraphs, dense with imagery--but, I often found myself removed from it all, as though the words constructed not an invitation but a wall. Still, there were several poems that completely captured me: Owl, a dictionary definition that blows apart the actual animal; How to Make Love to Someone You Do ...more
