Fine look at the Alamo, including events leading up to and following the battle. Great mini-essays on notable people, both Mexican and Anglo, in the battle. Addresses lingering questions (including the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie) and offers various answers and theories. Vivid details about the enormous battle and the revenge taken upon the Mexican troops following the battle. Texas history is never boring, and this proves it. Children's nonfiction.
