This aptly named chapbook is Maggie Hess's first edition strictly made up of poetry for Amazon readers. These are Hess's more recent poems, fresh nature odes that praise a human voice as they find transcendence. As we are carried through the world in this poet's pocket we know she is a bit crazy, loud, bold, brazen. And that is why we buy and read her writing.

My sister's newest book of poetry contains some of my favorite poems to date. I particularly like the one about our mother, which parallels the themes in Watermelon Summer.
