Recommended to me by an octagenarian Irish priest. I had read Keane's Durango before. This is a non-fiction book about a man who brought together 400 couples in an isolated farming area of North Kerry. Farmers married late in life and never got out enough to meet eligible partners. They didn't get married until the way was clear, that is sisters married off, younger brothers off to the city or America, and the ould folks taken care of.
