Jalinda is a young girl who has had a rough childhood. Her parents have died of the pox and she is sent to live with her grandmother, who doesn’t want her and can’t afford her. The old woman tells Jalinda that she is a witch. When the villagers set upon Jalinda and her Granny, Jalinda is rescued and brought to the Hollows to live with the lords family.

First off, I love imperfect characters and Jalinda is a good example. As a teenager she is selfish and impetuous. The mistakes she makes cost thos
