This book just turned 50 in 2006, but its totally worth a read if you can find it. Phillips wrote it at the request of the Church Missionary Society as a response to reports from the "Younger Churches" around the world. Today, we would call them emerging churches. John Bertram Phillips or, J. B. Phillips (16 September 1906 – 21 July 1982) was an English Bible scholar, translator, author and clergyman.
