OK,
this is a very sad story but a very good one..
They boy runs away from his home from his brutal uncleand on his journey finds a strange looking dog that he becomes real close to and then comes to a general store when he might have a new home.

And this relates to me too in a way because i have ran away too from home.. and i do have a loving dog(=

and have a brutal dad..:/

I will never forget reading this book in the 4th grade. This was the first book that ever made me sob. I absolutely loved it and became so engrossed with the characters.
I just recently re-read it out loud to my twin 9-year-old daughters and it was just as good as reading it the first time. My daughters and I laughed and cried throughout the story. Bristle Face is truly unforgettable.

I read this book every year of my elementary school life --those that I could read, of course-- and have never forgotten it. I would love to go back and see what my opinion is now that it's been awhile. I remember it very, very fondly.
