Beth Andrews Shady Grove series has been a real winner for me and Small Town Redemption was a book I was really looking forward to because of the characters. We met Charlotte in her sister's book, in which Charlotte thought she was in love with James and had her life and future all mapped out and when things didn't turn out the way she wanted she propositions bad boy, her sister's boss Kane, who turns her down.

The book then jumps ahead a few months and Charlotte has regrouped and

Charlotte intends to find that perfect man for her and thought she had--until James decided he loved Char's sister and the proposed. Still smarting and trying to mend her broken heart, she finds herself attracted to a real badass, Kane Bartasavich. But why? He's totally NOT her type.

Unfortunately, Kane wrecks his cycle one night and ends up in the ER, where Char works and while doing her job, her protective instincts require that she take him home when he is released to heal at home, bruised ri

Charlotte is ready for life and thinks she has it all figured out, then one day her life is turned upside down and she's left with the hottest man in town. Is that a bad thing? Well in this case it might be, and Charlotte is determined to not let him into her bed mind or heart.

I liked the story a lot, it was predictable and certain spots but had enough surprises to kept me reading. I wish the character of Charlotte had been dug into more, but I do understand the nature of the Genre and publisher

Hmm. Let me see. Hero with long blond hair. Heroine with bright orangey-red hair. Cover designers? Nailed it!

Beth Andrews is a very good author and someone whose books I’ve enjoyed in the past. Though this is a book in a series, she never writes those series instalments that confuse new readers. You could – like me – pick this one and only this one up and not be confused.

I really enjoyed reading this, mostly because the characters are so realistic and so contemporary. A
I received this book as an e-ARC free from Netgalley. Below is my review.

Kane and Charlotte are quite the damaged pair and what a lovely bumpy ride they have! This book hits so many of my buttons - angsty guy, woman looking to come into her own, family drama, and lots of pain and grovelling.

Charlotte is well, just too nice. There is an innocence about her that some might find off-putting but that just seemed right" in light of her family situation. Even when she wanted to be mad or lash out, sh

Charlotte thought she found her prince charming but only to discover James is interested in her sister. She went to her sister’s boss and tried to seduce him only to be turned down by him. Fast forward a few months, Kane ended in ER where she is working after involved in an accident and seeing himself alone and the extent of his injury, her protective instinct has overtook her common sense, she sent him home and take care of him. In that period, she discover that Kane have a daughter who he ...more

"a well-written story populated with nicely drawn characters. Kane is quite complex in his determination to do the right thing by Charlotte and by his teenage daughter who visits town (RT Book Reviews)". 4 1/2 stars

Good for a mills n boon type read. Well written. The ending felt a bit abrupt. Otherwise enjoyed it. Good strength in the heroine.

Even though I dropped into an ongoing series with this title, I enjoyed the chemistry and the complex backstory of Char and Zane. Love a bad boy hero.
