3 1/2 to 4. Better than average, though the beginning was a little confusing. Two mothers and one father died, and, with all the "moms" and "dads" mentioned, it was initially hard to keep the characters straight. I like a book where there is a strong female protagonist, one who does not sit passively waiting to be saved by a man, but I wish the author gave her more to do. For example, she had a gun, as was described as a good shot, but she never got to use it. All the real action at the end was ...more
I have enjoyed this author's Hideaway series and was eager to read this. This was fine as a standalone, but evidently Gerald and Megan starred in another book. I will browse the library's interlibrary loan offerings and see what more I can find. There has to be more to the story of Nick's past as a doctor.

This had all the right elements: likeable characters put in dangerous situations which require courage and faith to sort out. Sarah and Nick and Edward were all almost too nice and unselfish to

If you are looking for a short suspenseful, mysterious, romance this one is for you.

Sarah Russell must face her home town, after the tragic death of her parents, in hopes of keeping her sister/teenage daughter safe. She is not sure how to handle the love and acceptance from her old family friends. While trying to keep on eye on her daughter can she keep her safe and keep her heart from being broken again? Will Nick understand and welcome the news that he is a father?

After being drugged at her own going-away party, Sarah ends up pregnant. Her parents convinced her it was best to adopt the child and allow everyone to think Emma was their child – and her younger sister.

Now her parents were both gone – killed in an explosion. Was it an accident as reported, or was it murder?

Once again, Hannah writes a intriguing story of danger and excitement. Join me in the town of Jolly Mill as Nick, Sarah and Emma try to discover the truth behind the two explosions. The rea

This book was a fun read. It was written well with likable characters.

What I liked: I enjoyed the suspense in this story, and I was not able to guess the murderer’s identity until the end of the book. I also liked the love and concern the characters and the town displayed for each other.

What I didn't like: Nick kept referring to his father, Edward, as “Dad” even when he was not talking to him, as if this were his father’s name. This was a little confusing since there were other men in the same s

Collateral Damage

This is a good book with Christian morals as the theme and no bad language or sexual scenes. So many "Christian" books anymore are NOT Christian.

This was a very interesting story mixing romance and mystery in a nice blend. The author kept me guessing through most of the book about who was the killer. I enjoyed the wild goose chases that Emma took the hero and heroine on although I knew she was in danger and possibly endangering them as well. The ride from the hospital in Monett back to Jolly Mill was quite interesting to imagine as Edward got faster and faster while Sarah shared her story. Since I have his same first name and used to hav ...more

Wow! Loved, Loved, Loved! This is a great mystery. A real page turner. I loved the way the characters sought out the Lord. I would love to hear more about Nick and Sarah. I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed the suspense in this story, and the characters ....keeps you guessing until the end...Strong Christian morals...differently worth a read....

I really enjoy Hannah's books and this one is awesome. A great suspense.
Another book that is well written by Hannah Alexander! I loved this book (as I do with all of her books). I was guessing who the killer was until the end! I can't wait for the next!
