nevr knew much about chakras, but this book is really accessible, & laid out w/pretty graphics too. think i'm gonna start paying attn to chakras & their uses frm now on....the info seems pretty sensible--especially when combined w/other holistic practices.
hope to learn much more.

I read this book for two reasons. I wanted to learn more about Chakras after I had a Reiki treatment at a spa and I wanted to figure out what the heck yoga teachers kept referring to in yoga classes. This book and learning about Chakras was totally fascinating for me. It has definitely taken yoga to a totally different level.

basic info. fairly repetative. read meditation as medicine for a much more indepth and fabulous book.

A very accessible and worthwhile basic experiential guide to chakras and working with their energy. Definitely a good resource for personal exploration but the scholar in me was rather frustrated by the self-referential bibliography, which listed as its only sources other works by the same author, published by the same press.

Simple and direct with only a few pages to detail the Chakra framework, this book was an excellent introduction to the field. I have benefited greatly from organizing perception and self-awareness based upon these centers of power.
