^^ MADRE DE DIOS, MUCHO CALIENTE!^^
So book #4 of the Midnight Breed series, I enjoyed it but I had my issues with the flow of the story. Don’t get me wrong it was really good as to be expected of Lara Adrian but there was just something about the time span between the couple that left me going “hmmm”.
So the Breed are warriors sworn to protect humans and civilian vamps from vampires gone rogue, which means they just cant stop from killing and sucking the human population More...

In the first book of Adrian's Midnight Breed series, Kiss of Midnight, the seemingly happily mated couple, Rio & Eva, meet a tragic ending. Eva betrays Rio and the rest of his brothers in arms, bringing about her own death and leaving Rio severely scarred- emotionally and physically.
A short time later, where Midnight Rising picks up, Rio is tired of his miserable existence. At the end of a dangerous mission in the mountains of Prague, the Warriors discover an ancient, empty crypt whi More...

WHOA! Another great read for my keeper shelf from Lara Adrian. I just finished this book and my heart is still racing.
Dylan Alexander is on vacation in Europe. Her mother is dying and it was her wish for Dylan to take her place on this fabulous trip. Dylan's always been a little different...she can see ghosts. But they're always young and always female. She sees one while hiking on her trip and it guides her to a dark cave while whispering, "Save him."

I loved this story so much. There wasn't much other than Rio and Dylan's story, but I think it needed to be that way since Rio was able to find love so soon after Eva. Lara Adrian pulled this off beautifully.

I fell down the stairs because I was walking and reading this thing. They should add “HAZARD: So addicting, you may never put it down. (Watch your step!)” on the cover of these things! Despite my fall, I was able to save the page I was on, but failed to keep my coffee from spilling all over the floor. I spent precious reading time cleaning up at mess! But apart from my sore knee and the ruined carpet, I loved every moment of reading Midnight Rising!

I was not sure how this book was going to go for me, because I felt like it might have been too soon to tell Rio's story. However, this was totally not the case as Adrian was able to bring Rio "back from the brink" and make things right for him in this book.
In this fourth book in the Breed series, the book opens by reminding us that Rio had stayed behind to deal with some unfinished business of the Order. However, it also reminds us how damaged Rio was due to a previous i More...

Book #4 in the Midnight Breed series. This is the story of Rio and Dylan. Not bad. I had to finish reading it tonight because I could not wait till tomorrow to finish it. Roi had to learn to trust again after what had happen the year previous from the Betrayel of his first Breedmate. A really good book, just in how Rio and Dylan overcome their trust issues. Now I have to wait till December for the 5th in the series, Nickolai's story.

When Dylan Alexander discovers what appears to be a tomb deep within a cave, she knows that as a journalist this could be a big story for her. What she doesn’t know is that by walking into that cave she has entered a world of vampire warriors and deadly Rogues. Within that cave is Rio, a vampire scarred by an explosion that nearly killed him and also by the pain of betrayal. Rio must bring Dylan into his world, but he cannot risk trusting her when she has the power to expose the vampire race. Th

This is the 4th installment of The Midnight Breed series. Here we have Rio's story. In the earlier books, Rio's breedmate betrayed both him and the warriors resulting in Rio's face and part of his torso becoming scarred and disfigured. It's also left him very disturbed both mentally and emotionally.
Again, Lara Adrian delivers a wonderful book. Not only is it wonderful in that it tells a beautiful story for one of her many amazing characters (ie, Rio), but also in that it's a grea More...

Book #4 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of "stuff" going on in the Breed world. (Oh my) As I read more into this series, I started enjoying it more. Characters develop well; they touched me. This was Rio and Dylan's story and the series should be read in order because Rio was the Warrior who was betrayed by his mate in an earlier book.

I liked Midnight Rising and I'll read the 5th installment that comes out in December. It's fun fluffy reading, I wasn't terribly attached to Dylan or Rio, but the action was good. A good escape.
I read a comment a while back that it the 1st book is very different from 2-4. After reading 1-4 I totally agree. Kiss of Midnight has more rituals and history where as the other 3 are more action packed sans rituals. They aren't different in a bad way, but nevertheless different. I wo More...

About Midnight Rising I liked it.
It's slightly inferior than the previous ones. Dylan didn't surprised me. She didn't conquer me the way Tess, Gabrielle and Elise conquered me. Nonetheless Rio's love story is beautiful just the same.
It's not going to be branded in my memory though. It's not my favourite.
I'm curious about Nikolai. I hope his book will be awesome.

Wonderful book by Lara Adrian as the previous books of the series. This is the fourth book that tells the story of Eleuterio de la Noche Atanacio "Rio" one of the members of the Order, a One Gen vampire who was born many years ago from the aliens and a human female call Breedmates. Rio is a very disturbed vampire after suffering tremendous damage to his body, mind and heart at an explosion that was set to kill Lucan the Breed leader last summer. He doesn't trust anybody after discoveri

Rated 3.5/5
Summary: Dylan Alexander is traveling overseas, taking the place of her Mother on a long girls vacation. Touring with the older women has been entertaining, but Dylan can’t take her mind off of her ailing Mother at home alone. During a hike in the mountains, Dylan accidentally finds a hidden cave that is covered in strange symbols. She decides to take a few pictures for the gossip-style magazine she works for.

I thought I was going to hate this book, especially after the butchering of German translations that made it obvious that the author didn't bother to seek out a reliable source for authenticity's sake. Aside from that I already had an aversion to the female heroine, Dylan, who is a reporter for a cheap newspaper that prides itself on publishing stories about paranormal activities and the supernatural. In the beginning the sense one gets from Dylan is that she's only concerned with furthering her

Rio is the battered and emotionally wounded, betrayed by his breedmate male who is ready to off himself. What does he need to save him? A nosey ass tabloid reporter, with no flight instincts and damn good digital camera.
We also get a smattering of ghosts through this episode and a deeper look into Dragos and his really loopy plan to take over the world by sexin' up the ancient.

Reporter Dylan Alexander is on the last leg of a tour of Europe when she sees a woman on a hill outside Prague. Knowing of her special gift to see ghosts, Dylan is aware the woman is deceased. When she hears the woman beg her for help, Dylan does her best to ignore the plea. Unable to walk away from the desperate entreaty, Dylan is led by the mysterious apparition to a hidden and dank cave. Initially spooked, Dylan leaves only to go back later when her curiosity demands her return. What she face

Rio is a Breed Warrior ready to give up on everything and everyone, including himself, after over a year of futile attempts to recover from severe injuries to his body and mind after a betrayal that hurt not only him but also the entire Order of Breed Warriors he once embraced as his family. He is suicidal and full of self-hatred and doesn't care about anything anymore except for ending his sufferable life. But then a journalist stumbles into the assignment his fellow Warriors left him to handle

I was looking forward to this story of Rio. Midnight Rising is the fourth novel in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed vampire romance series. From the opening pages, where tabloid reporter Dylan first discovers the mysterious secluded cave half way up a Czech mountainside with its half-mad vampire occupant, Midnight Rising captures the attention and imagination of its readers and refuses to let go. Rio has a lot of problems. He was cruelly betrayed by his breedmate (Eva) during the events that occurre

This is book 4 in the series.
This book focuses on Rio, a breed warrior who in book 1 suffers life threatening injuries from an ambush and the ultimate betrayal of his mate Eva and Dylan Alexander, a journalist who stumbles upon a hidden tomb while in Prague.
Dylan works for a tabloid newspaper in the States and thinks this might be a great way of getting back into her bosses good books. She takes her camera and starts to take photos only to find somebody actually in the c More...

Dylan Alexander is on a trip to the Czech Republic when she sees a vision of woman on a rock formation. She knows the woman is dead, even though it has been years since she last saw a dead woman. She is drawn to investigate and finds a narrow entrance to a cave, in which she finds human bones and a large empty crypt. She hears a noise, and is frightened into leaving in a hurry. She comes back later and finds a man lying on the cave floor, but then she looks again and he is gone. Breed warri

My Review:
Dylan sees dead people...specifically, the ghosts of dead young women. It's one of these ghosts that leads Dylan to Rio. Rio is a physically and emotionally scarred warrior from the Order. His Breedmate, Eva, committed the ultimate betrayal that left him scarred. He has lost all hope and is on the verge of committing suicide. It's Eva's ghost that leads Dylan to the cave where Rio is at and sets them on a journey to finding each other and love.
This is #4 in the Midnight More...

First Thoughts (EN only)
I really liked the story, although I'm not sure why this suprises me that much. Maybe because I didn't enjoy the other books very much (and it's not like they weren't written as well as this one, I just don't think they are very original). Maybe because I didn't like the way Adrian handled Dylans mother-issue. It reminded me off Karen Rose's Scream for Me (book #8), in which I always wondered if the author would kill this one person to give her prot More...
