Note that this is the original (1970) version. The ongoing rule changes in the NFL (particularly those aimed at player safety) have rapidly changed the game, rendering this book more of a historical study than a guide to today's game. In that capacity, this book excels. I found the most interesting chapters to be the ones covering the offensive and defensive lines.
Zimmerman wrote an updated version in 1985 that, presumably (it's still on my to-read list), is more useful for the current-day fan....more
