A great guide book for Prague, with lots to do and see and some great tips for food, drinks and shopping. I always find Lonely Planet the best option when it comes to travel guides. Their combination of local history, practical advice and recommendations are second to none and it is all topped off with some fantastic photos and illustrations. Having read some other reviews for this book I was a bit confused as to why so many people were hating on it for focusing on Prague; the title should have ...more

This is your usual Lonely Planet guide - with tons of useless lists of restaurants and hotels to pad the book to length, but otherwise helpful and accurate. If you are going to stay mainly in Prague, which gets the lion's share of attention here, this book is for you. But people intending to make lots of trips outside of the capital should buy Lonely Planet's Czech and Slovak Republics instead and skip the Slovakia parts.

I know the title already gives it away - this guide is mostly about Prague - but I was still disappointed with how little there was written about other places. Prague is not the only interesting place to see in Czech republic. For instance, there is only 8 pages about Brno, the second biggest city in Czech republic.

OUR STORY
A beat-up old car, a few dollars in the pocket and a sense of adventure. In 1972 that’s all Tony and Maureen Wheeler needed for the trip of a lifetime – across Europe and Asia overland to Australia. It took several months, and at the end – broke but inspired – they sat at their kitchen table writing and stapling together their first travel guide, Across Asia on the Cheap. Within a week th
