Here's the disclaimer. I really wanted to love, to 5-star this book, because I think that the author (Mary V. Dearborn) is wonderful. But...I didn't. Perhaps because I just don't like Norman Mailer and the way he lived his life. Yep, judgmental of me. And probably a testament to how well Dearborn has depicted Mailer.
