Above Par is a romantic novel by Crystal Donahue.
It’s the tale of Drew and Weston. Drew is the typical college student. However, she prefers to hide behind a book than to party. Then comes Drew a math teacher who is handsome, kind, with a dimpled face and blue eyes. Need I say more? Well, yes, I do. See, Drew is not our common man whore. And this aspect of this book set the story apart from the common thread of plotting so common in the young adult fiction. It was refreshing to see a mouthwater

TrishswirlI must admit, for some reason I didn't think I was going to like Above Par. Even after Megan read it and really enjoyed it, I just wasn't feeling it. I think it was the golf reference. Golf is boring. (Apologies to the golfers out there. But seriously: B-O-R-I-N-G.) Well, it turns out it's about mini-golf, not real golf. Well, not really ABOUT mini-golf, but mini-golf is involved. I freakin' LOVE mini-golf. And you know what? I loved the book! Why didn't I read this sooner? Sometimes I'm an idi ...more

I could NOT put this book down. I read it in one day!! OMG!

This is the rollercoaster story of Drew and Wes. Drew is a college student, but in the mean time she is put in charge of the family mini golf course and her kid sister. Her parents are in Florida taking care of her grandpa, who has cancer. So it’s up to Drew to hold it all together.

Her kid sister, Piper isn’t doing well in Geometry class, since their mom is away, Dr

Whenever I read a book, I always look for the lesson or message that is interpreted. With this book I think the message is communication is key.
OMG. .. I absolutely loved this book. Once I picked up this fast paced novel, I couldn’t put it down. I also didn’t want it to end.
This was a fun witty book that had me laughing, crying and wishing for a happy ending. This book was well thought out and put together beautifully. The author did

I was quite taken with this book and I simply loved everything about it. From the great storyline, to the refreshing characters and with the perfect blend of humor, heartache and romance, it was just the light read I needed.

I enjoyed the main character Drew's perspective and she felt very relatable. She is a responsible young woman with goals for her future. But she is first and foremost a dedicated daughter and a caring older sister when her grandfather falls ill and her parents must tend to hi

If you adore chick-lit novels, then YES this is for you. Above Par is a perfect example of a beach read. Without going into a synopsis of the book, I will tell you what I liked. First I like Drew! She gets sort of stuck watching Piper her 14 year old sister while her parents tend to a very ill Grandfather. There is an age difference, so when these little events are brought up, it is cute, funny and laugh out loud.
As soon as her parents leave, she is told there is an appointment to meet a teache

A New Adult without all the angst....YAY!! What a great romance Crystal Donahue has here. ABOVE PAR was part sweet, with a splash of sexy and a whole lotta romance. Drew was a great heroine, she was hard-working, tried her best to be a "good daughter/sister" and finally might have found the "Guy of her dreams"...But could he be hiding a secret?

Weston...Swoony Swoon...Who doesn't like a sexy geometry teacher with killer dimples! I knew there was something fishy from the beginning, but I couldn't

I totally enjoyed Above Par! Drew was a fun character and I loved all her layers. She's been having to deal with her sister while her parents are away, and she meets Weston, a teacher and from the instant they met, it's so on! No, not the sex, no not the angst...but the wit and the fun! Ahh! I loved these two. I love that they are learning about each other and not jumping into bed. I love the dialog between them....You catch my drift?

Above Par is an easy, delightful read, and I could se

Drew has been looking forward to college graduation, then graduate school in psychology. She hadn't anticipated her grandfather's illness would call her parents away, or that she'd be babysitting her spoiled teenage sister and running the family miniature golf business. And she definitely hadn't expected to meet Weston, her sister's drool-worthy math teacher.
Between romantic angst and some very adult thoughts about the hunky teacher, Drew finds herself in danger of falling in love. Not that ther

I just flew right through this book. It was a sweet and fun read. Drew is helping out her parents while they are with her sick grandpa. Weston is her sister's math teacher. She literally runs into him in the hall. They end up dating, even though Drew doesn't think it is the best idea. He is keeping a big secret, which is never a good idea. If you are looking for a book that is just really sweet and a lot of fun to read, I recommend.

A heartwarming, feel-good read. When Drew's cousin "forces" her to wear a tennis skirt for their PE Class, she doesn't have time to change before running into Weston, a man who makes her heart skip a beat. But how fortuitous for her, since her legs fast become Weston's weakness. But secrets abound in this love story. Can a relationship begin on the thin ice of lies, or will fall through before things even get started? This is a fast paced, easy read. Very fun. 4.5 Stars.

Crystal Donahue has managed to change my opinion about the romance genre. I am a hardened horror reader and the only romance I ever delve into is paranormal or a story with some other element of creepy to it. Donahue's work is sweet, flirty and fun- totally the opposite of what I read. But I loved it! I found myself unable to pull away from the story of Drew and Wes and rooted for them from the moment they met. I would recommend this book to anyone, a fan of romance or not!

Such a sweet book. The interaction between the characters was great. Drew and Weston was a very believable couple. I wish I had had a teacher that looked like Weston when I was in school. Pick up a copy, you will not be disappointed.
