Alyssa Velazquez didn't intentionally set out to become a relationship column writer when she went to school, yet that is the hand that life dealt her. Strongly influenced by Carrie Bradshaw and Sex and the City, she has spent hours analyzing her own love life and societal expectations. In this book, she has collected some of her thoughts originally published in her column, hoping to inspire us to do the same with our own lives.

This was a clever and short read. Sometimes that is just what the doctor ordered. A little dose of cleverness and wit to get you through the day! The fact that the book is centered around a woman reflecting on passed relationships was a nice change of pace for me. I have been reading a lot of the intense type romances lately, and so to read about a woman thinking about her past was nice. The author does a great job of describing what a dream love would be like, or what we expect it to be anyway. ...more

This book begins with a woman on a ferry reflecting on her past relationships. I loved it. I thought it was well-thought out, beautifully-written, and well-edited. It’s a quick read, quite entertaining and humorous (my favorite was her mention of chivalry in the hospital). So true!

Insightful and authentic, I think almost any woman can relate to this short work and even gain a deeper understanding of their own past relationships, of themselves, and of finding peace and happiness. I highly recomm
