The best books have laughter and tears and this one had both. I really liked both Liam and Kate. As head of the MacIntyre Family Foundation Kate has been tasked with heading the fundraising push for the pediatric surgical wing. With seven eligible doctors a bachelor auction seems like the perfect solution - until one of those doctors balks at the idea. Liam is a widower who is wrapped up in his family. Dating isn't on his radar for several years, if ever. He really hates the idea of the auction, ...more

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I must admit, I've never read a Harlequin novel in my life. I really don't know why, I just didn't. I saw the opportunity to read this one and I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it.

Gorgeous doctor, Liam Thayer is head of pediatrics at Celebrations Hospital and father of twin teenage daughters. After the tragic death of his wife two years earlier and one bad relationship afterwards, he vows to hold of

Another delightful novel by Nancy Robards Thompson...Celebration’s Family had my attention from the get go. I always enjoy a story about a bachelor auction but this story was special. Immediately we discovered that Dr. Liam Thayer had experienced a tragedy that left him raising twin daughters. Kate Macintyre, the coordinator of the bachelor auction, presents Liam with an idea that will help make him feel comfortable participating in the auction. As things go, the best laid plans take on new mean ...more

Recommends it for: friends
I was drawn in right at the start about a bachelor auction with a very reluctant widowed single father of twin girls and the woman who sets up the auction. When Kate Macintyre understands why Dr. Liam Thayer is so reluctant to not be a part of the auction she comes up with a plan for bidding on hi herself thus making it easy to "get out" of the actual date. She approaches Dr Thayer with her plan which coincides with his idea of just donating money & gets him out of trouble with his boss by par ...more

I absolutely loved this story. First thing you need to know, although this is a continuation of Celebrations, Inc books, it is a great read as a stand alone. The way the author introduces the doctors excites me for the upcoming Celebrations Inc. stories!

I won't recap the whole book (don't want to ruin it for you), but I will say the characters are developed fully and the descriptions were so vivid I could draw a mental picture of the people and places. I also loved that the story was only dealin

I love Harlequin romance novels especially the Special Edition ones and this is the first book by Nancy Robards Thompson that I have read and I loved it. Kate and Liam had great chemistry together and she wrote their story very nicely. After Liam experienced a tragedy and was raising his daughters it was really great to see the struggle of moving on from his wife with Kate. This was a really enjoyable read and finished the same day that I started and I would mostly defiantly recommend this book ...more

Kate Macintyre was the independent type and in her life she was not planning on finding love and having children after her miscarriage and love was found when she was not looking for it. Liam Thayer was grieving his wife and was not looking for love till a bachelor auction that his friend enter him in and the more time that he spent with Kate and the more time that she spent around his children the more he saw love in her and wanted her

"Thompson's broken, heartwarming couple are engrossing as they find love after a tragedy in this terrific installment in the Celebration miniseries. Supporting characters like the chocolatier/matchmaker will charm, and the doctor's twin girls add the perfect "aww!" factor." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 stars

This was a nice easy read!

Loved the premise of this book! Love books about people finding love again after they have lost someone close to them (i.e., wife, husband).

I enjoyed the conflict and lead up to the auction, but after the story kind of fizzled for me. Liam's grief came across as selfishness to me, and because of that, the HEA wasn't convincing for me. Kate's compassion towards Liam's daughter saved the read, and I wish there had been more moments like those.

Really great story of a widower, Liam, trying not to fall in love again - until his twin daughters go off to college. Kate is in charge of raising funds for pediatric wing for the hospital. An auction for a date with the bachelor doctors is the plan but Liam doesn't want to do it - his boss isn't keen on him bailing out so Kate comes up with a plan to help him out. It is such a fun story.

Kate was one of my favorite secondary characters in this series and this is one of my favorite books! A Bachelor Auction is certainly not a new theme in a romance book, But it is certainly one I love reading about. And who better than Hot doctors? Except Dr. Liam Thayer - who's already lost the love of his life and has no intention of moving forward. So he and Kate plan the perfect auction "setup" date. This story is funny and sad and romantic and just "head over heels crazy"! And I Loved every ...more

Celebration's Family was my first read from Nancy Robards Thompson but it most certainly will not be my last!! I absolutely adored this book! I loved the idea of a bachelor's auction and the fact that Liam is reluctant just makes it all the better! Ms Thompson has a wonderful writing style that I loved and I just fell in love with the characters! This is just one of those happy books that will make you smile!

(4.5 / 5)

Dr. Liam Thayer's and Kate Macintyre's story was sweet. There was drama, yes. There were misunderstandings and some revelations, naturally. However, at the heart of it, the story was sweet and involved two adults who had been through a lot who could very well work together.

Good read and highly recommended.

Book received from author for honest review.
