This book does not sugarcoat. Not one bit. Hunter takes full aim at the Christian Right, former President Bush, and vote-hungry politicians for harming the American public through lack of education and oppression. I appreciated Hunter’s use of one particular family affected by AIDS to show the many root causes including incarceration, substance abuse, abstinence-only education, racism, and sexism.
