Linda Howard returns to category with this the first installment to the Raintree Trilogy written by herself, Linda Winstead Jones, & Beverly Barton.
I actually kinda liked this one. At least I liked it better than some of her latest books. Published by Silhouette Nocturne, it's all paranormal and that combined with the fact LH is one of my all time favorite comfort reads, made this book far more likable for me than if it had been written by another author.

Disclaimer: I tried. I really tried to be unbiased about this book, despite the negative reviews I've seen on all sides. I'm sure it effected me anyway, no matter open-minded I tried to be.

Raintree: Inferno is the first in the Raintree series by 3 different authors. I purchased this book as a 3 in 1 novel and was glad I did, as the ending was a cliff-hanger and I was eager to read more. I was surprised at first to learn that these trilogies were written by different authors and was a little put off by that. However, now having read all three, I can understand how each author created their own character but also stayed true to the plot.

This ended up being an OK book. I love PNR/UF and I love some of Howard's earlier romantic suspense books (Cry No More, Mr Perfect, etc.) so I thought I'd give this one a try.
The storyline was pretty original and I liked the heroine. The hero I didn't like. He was an overbearing jerk for a good portion of the time. I didn't get why the heroine would have feelings for him. I was so desperate to read fresh LH material that I actually purchased this trilogy!! Overall I was pleasantly surprised by it, only book that let me down was the third one: Sanctuary. I liked Inferno but it just felt incomplete and didn't delve enough into the main characters...I'm used to LH really fleshing out her characters I guess. I was surprised by how OK it was. I was expecting raunchy love scenes with little plot. The only thing I didn't like was the explanation of how a romance could come about so quickly. I've read lots of reviews of romances claiming that it was unbelievable that the romance could develop from such and such a situation. This book seemed to hear you thinking that and immediately explain how it could indeed be so. I guess it wasn't too bad, but it was more TELL than SHOW. It wasn't organic.

ptama masi blm terlalu cepet masuk ke pesona dante..
tp lama kelamaan gw terperangkap jg.. hohoho..

I love this book and really want to read the other two book in this series. Dante is a sexy, in control king of his people and his main gifts are controlling fire and a new one for him mind control. Lorna Had a childhood of abuse but grew up to be smart, sexy, and funny ( she has a real way with words) and her gift is with numbers. This was a fantastic story full of excitement and romance, and of course a new twist on the paranormal.

It was a short, quick read, but I find myself lacking things to say about it, which is a sign of its banality. The plot didn’t hold my interest, and I found the characters rather flat. Hey this one was pretty good! I didn't realize until the end that it was a "continuing" story (I was wondering how Howard was going to wrap it up so quickly; now I know...) The story line was good, and I really like her "Raintree" world... very unique! I've quit investing in just "ok" series, but I think I'll give this one a shot, it has quite a bit more potential then any of the other series I've tried lately.

Exciting, sexy, and entertaining! I loved both of the main characters and the world that’s been created for this series. It’s intriguing and well done.
My only complaint is that there is a HUGE cliff-hanger at the end. I prefer my books neatly wrapped up, even if they are intended to be a series.

Might be slightly spoilery, but seriously contemplating having sex with a man who controlled your body against your will? Then deciding you love him in two days? This was like watching a mini series of X - Men. The three stories culminate in the end with a complete war scene with everyone flinging thunder, fire at each other. Its tremendous fun with all the ghosts and premonitions thrown in for good measure.

This is 3 stories that are linked together. There are 3 siblings with special powers and each story is about one of them. I only read the first two stories which take place at the same time. I didn't feel like reading the third story but that had more to do with having something else I wanted to start and less about the quality of the stories. The first story is from Linda Howard who I really like. Her characters are usually sarcastic which is one of the reasons I like her.

Not bad. All the things we love about Linda Howard. I bought this and read it when it first came out, then was sad when I realized the sequels were going to be by different authors. I never gave the other books a chance, but after rereading this one, I will now seek them out.

This book was good. Dante was fun and the things the author came up with is very interesting in how it's all set up and the plot is good and intertwined. I like how the ending of all three books doesn't actually end until the third book.

agak kecewa dengan bukunya linda howard yang ini. Kok masih bagusan 2 buku raintree lainnya ya...sepertinya tokoh utamanya karakternya kurang tergarap gak kayak serial linda howard lain seperti di Mr Perfect.
