At first the book was a little difficult to read, because it consists of almost unedited interviews with war veterans. but as time goes by, it grows on you. That format eventually makes it easier to understend what all of them felt during their war years, and after. And in particuilar, some of them are speaking openly about hteir PTSD for the first time. recomended for WWII buffs.

This was a set of interviews the author conducted with veterans, most of them from WWII. Naturally, some of the men were better at storytelling than others. Also, most of the interviews were done 50 years after the end of the war, so some of the men’s memories were fading.

WWII heroes talk openly, foibles & cover-ups included. TTS-enabled, slight cussing, explicit violence, oddly, there's humor. Re-read it as reminder of that Generation & where we came from.
