This is the 2nd book in the Wildflower series by Leah Banicki and it focuses on Angela Fahey's story. She had come West starting out as a maid but was severely injured when sent out on a dark night to gather firewood and had to remain behind while she healed. I hate giving bad reviews especially on books like this. The author obviously has good motives and great ideas.
Good points:
The opening was strong
Faith was a big part of even the first few pages

Why I didn't finish the book:
While the first little bit of the story was pretty good. The quality of the book went down quickly. It became an information dump. It was poorly written, rushed, and I found myself gritting my teeth. It just wasn't worth my time to finish.

Would I try this author again? In a fe

So glad that I read the book 1 before I read this one.

I do not care for Christian type books. I must have missed that information. Some people complain that the story was not Christian enough. Well have a go at this author, you will love her to pieces. I did have book 2, so I book 1. It was so much more interesting and full of information. This book drolled on and on about nothing of interest.

This book is precious to me -- followed the tale of Angela and her experiences -- brings the west into reality -- Leah's knowledge of Native American culture, early western settlements, the struggles of the gold rush days and descriptions of heartfelt scenes invokes praise for her writing voice -- I will read again soon!!!
