Recommends it for: toddlers - primary school
This was a story time selection relating to the summer theme of water, since geese like water. I really thought this one was both cute and clever. I liked how the goose at first just seems to be dirty, but we learn that in fact he is smart. He knows that if he is dirty he is camouflaged, just as he knows to get clean when it snows. I liked the happy ending as well.

Could be a good tie in book for elementary science lesson on camouflage in animals, especailly the ones that change with the seasons

this is an adorable kids book. The moral of the story is that just because everyone does something doesn't make it right. And just because you know that they're wrong doesn't mean you they'll listen do you. But you should always follow your own instincts. Very cute story. Can't wait to read it to my kids.

One goose out of a flock of geese learns how to outsmart a fox!

Classroom: it's not always right to follow the group, sometimes you must go your own way to find the right way- or the right way for you.

This is the cutest book! A little goose who likes to play in the muddy water isn't chased by the fox because the fox can't see him in the night time shadows. So all of the other geese decide to dirty themselves up. But then it begins to snow....

This book is so cute. The little goose is smart but the gaggle of geese treat him like an outcast. They learn their lesson by the end of the book.
