Should we be able to tell why Van Gogh was a genius just looking at his work? Nope, not the case here. Honestly, I just enjoyed some of his paintings; mostly landscapes. The descriptions in this book gave me few clues about why his work was original, genius, masterpieces, etc. Perhaps I need to read an introduction to Van Gogh now, and then get back to his paintings.
