Love in the Wind by Elizabeth Goddard
Maddie Cramer’s world has been turned around for the longest time. She finds out her dad isn’t really her dad, her parents move away, she meets her biological father for the first time and her five person crew for the regatta is missing one man. Grady Stone is to take Taylor’s place on the team to repay an old debt and had every intention of leaving to start a new life and job right after but he’s falling hard for Maddie. Because of all the emotional upheaval

The cover is so inviting and relaxing that you know when you open this book that your in for a really great story. This is a contemporary romance set in New Mexico and is a lot more than just a romance. I felt it was about learning to forgive and making right decisions.

Maddie is a 23 year old young woman who lives in a small town near the largest lake in New Mexico. She has always loved the lake, but her first love is actually sailing. When she was 18 her parents gifted her with a J24 keelboat w
After reading Love in the Wind, I had a very happy and content feeling. I also felt that I had acquired a great deal of knowledge about sailing! This was an enjoyable read.

The story centers on Maddie, who second guesses every emotion and decision she makes, and Grady, who currently feels like a failure! There are good reasons that these two battle their own emotions throughout the book. In the midst of a beautiful setting, we get to follow Maddie and Grady as they work to sort out their feelings

Maddie Cramer gets some news that she wasn't expecting. She finds out that the dad that raised her is not her biological father. Wow that would be a big blow. She cannot understand why she wasn't told by her parents before now. She meets her real father and they find out that they have a lot in common. They both love sailing. Maddie wants her father to be proud of her. She is to sail in the regatta. It would be a five people crew. One of the crew gets hurt an

I love, love, love “Love In The Wind”!!! Now let me tell you why…

#1 Unforgettable Characters: Elizabeth Goddard really knows how to craft characters that are relatable, real and just worth rooting for! Maddie is dealing with a lot including having just met her biological father- whom Maddie has inherited her love of sailing from. Grady is a trooper from the beginning, putting himself on the line when Maddie’s sailing-mate Taylor has to pull out of the upcoming regional regatta. Maddie is very gu

Perfect Pacing for a Romance

This book maintains a steady clip. No sections race ahead. But then, there are also no dragging areas to the story either. And this romance holds its own. No need for quirks, mysteries, or suspense. Its tension lies in the heroine's resolve to impress, and the obstacles that cascade into her path.

The love story begins early in the book. The main characters fight growing feelings. That scenario works perfectly for a woman who focuses on controlling every aspect of her

I love Elizabeth's books this new one Love in the Wind will not disappoint you. Another well written story by Elizabeth. If you like a good book that you won't want to put down then this one will be a great choice.
I love Maddie's character. would be hard finding out the person you thought for years was your father and he really isn't. Maddie meets him and finds out they have something in common sailing. So she enters the regatta determined she will win and s
What a great little short read! I really enjoyed it, especially Maddie! She seems like such a cool person to hangout with even if she has a lot internal struggles! Gardy was cool too!

I definitely loved the sailing part of this novel which was why I wanted to read it in the first place! I thought it very interesting to learn about not only the town Maddie lived in (New Mexico sounds so beautiful), but all the hard work that goes into sailing! There was a little adrenaline rush for me by just rea
The cover is a colorful eye catching sailing scene. It draws you right
into the story. This small town setting evolves around sailing, living
near the water, boat repairs, a nautical gift shop, a secret cove and a
visit to a ghost town . The characters are artfully drawn into the
story from the very start. Love In The Wind is a touching Christian
read. The book centers on the virtues of trust, honesty and honor.
Both the main characters learn the importance of giving control of
their lives to God.
I have read several books by Elizabeth Goddard and loved each of them. Even the smaller novels like this one can really have good lessons and they are not corny like many of the books under 200 pages. Believe me, I have started many I don't ever finish because I can't stand the writing.

Love in the Wind is about Maddie and Grady. Maddie has just recently(okay, about 2 years ago) been told that her father isn't really her father. She meets her birth father and instantly wants to prove herself to

I loved this story and the development of the characters. Maddie recently learned that the man she had called “father” all of her life is not her biological father. She also has recently met and spent time with her biological father, and finds out that they share a love of competitive sailing. Maddie is entered to race in a regatta that is coming up soon. She hopes to win the race, not only because she is competitive, but she feels that it is necessary in order to make her biological father prou ...more

He struggles with issues like Taylor having another girlfriend where he is currently staying, and

My Comments
I know nothing about sailing, but I truly enjoyed everything about this book! Goddard knows how to write stories that are touching and heart rendering, but also filled with characters who want to do the right thing while loving God. Sailing is Maddie’s escape and something she has been doing her whole life. However, she will soon learn that there is more to life than sailing.

Grady Stone is at a crossroads in his life. His business has not succeeded, the business his beloved grandfathe
Review on Amazon:
Review on my blog:

Love in the Wind was a nice read. I'll admit, these "Heartsong" books don't really draw me, as I much prefer contemporary romance books that are longer and deeper reads. That said, I did like this book and thought the regatta element was neat. I enjoyed some parts of the romance between Maddie and Grady, but I didn't like the ending - too rushed, in my opinion.

Overall, I liked Lov
Love in the Wind is a delightful love story! Elizabeth Goddard does a fantastic job of writing tender romance!

I loved the main characters, Maddie Cramer and Grady Stone! They both had such strength, but their pasts left them vulnerable as well. Their emotional and romantic journey felt very natural and was a pleasure to read. I also enjoyed the beautiful setting and the sailing that was wonderfully detailed.

Love in the Wind is a great story and a perfect afternoon read!

I received a compliment
Maddie is torn. Torn between two fathers, as she just discovered the father who raised her is actually her stepfather. She just met her birth father and discovered a shared passion for sailing and competing in regattas, but she still has questions about her life. Why was her birth father not a part of her childhood? And how can she trust what anyone says after learning she has been lied to her whole life? So when a member of Maddie's sailboat crew breaks his leg weeks before the big race, Maddie ...more
Maddie has been thrown a few curves in her life. Most of them have been within the past five years, starting with finding out her father isn’t really her father. Now she has to deal with the consequences. Maddie has just met her biological father for the first time and now all she wants to do is make him proud of her, make sure he never wants to give her up again. The most important thing they have in common is their love for competitive sailing. Maddie has a regatta coming up that she hopes to ...more

Wow, another great hit by Elizabeth Goddard! I loved getting to know Maddie and Grady. One of the things I loved about their story is the way they had to learn to give God control of their lives and when they learned. God took care of the situation.
