*What Sandra Howard Thought*

Engaging Brooke takes place in a small town in Montana. The two most prominent families in the area are the Browards and the Palmers. The families are completely immersed in there Ranch heritage, and are obsessed with keeping the ranch business and land in the family. No one understands the importance of that more than Jameson Broward. Brooke Palmer finds herself in a bit of a bind when her recently deceased father put a marital clause in his will. She reaches out to

I confess to being a little disappointed as I first read Loving Laney, book 3, and hoped that by reading book 2 I would see more about the competitive Laney who was an Olympic medallist equestrienne. Sadly no.

These turn out to be linked series books each about different characters written by different authors. So I have to take each on its own merits.

Brooke lives on the ranch land next to the Browards and in one of those wills sometimes found in books, her father left the land to herself and he

Generally I don't pan a book. I love a good romance and have read many of them. This one started out like a good old fashioned Harlequin Romance. Good author, sweet and clean story...but this was supposed to be an IR romance after all the picture showed a IR couple. This was no IR romance Brooke could have been any woman with dark curly hair and come on Montana? No back story to explain how a Black woman winds up growing up in Montana and family friends with a very wealthy Montana family...not h ...more

This is part of the Broward’s of Montana series which started off with Brooke’s father dies and in his will, she have to get married if she wants to the family ranch within 30 days. So, she went ahead to propose to the love of her life, Jameson, ex-fiance of her sister for marriage of convenience for a year. Not that he knew about her feeling though. She explained to him and he reluctantly agree to help her. However, things changed and eventually they fall in love but both are reluctant to tell ...more

Engaging Brooke is an adorable romance by Dana Girard that is part of the Browards of Montana series. When Brooke Palmer's father dies, he stipulates that she has to be married to receive her family inheritance. If she does not get married in 30 days, she will lose her family home. So, what's a girl to do? Propose to her sister's ex-boyfriend Jameson Broward, of course! You have to keep reading to find out what happens next. Engaging Brooke is a fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone who l ...more

Dara Girard never disappoints. I was nervous about reading a western by her but this story was wonderful. Thanks for trying this. I was wrapped in this story from the beginning and couldn't stop until I was finished. I love sweet love stories. Thanks for writing this.

I think this was suppose to be a novella and not a novel. The beginning was quick (not enough back story), the middle over extended and the end was only a paragraph (literally). Disappointing.

Engaging Brooke (The Browards of Montana)

To Read the second book in the Browards family was a treat. It is a great book. The way Data Girard writes makes you want to go where she wrote about!! Makes you want to have the kind of love her character's have!
This was my first Dara Girard read and it was ok. I felt the storyline was missing some pertinent facts that did not tell why the Hollywood actress, Samara Lionne was in the small town of Granger buying up property. What ever happened to Meredith?

The saga continues, delving into the lives of the oldest Broward sibling Jameson who dose not like to be called "James." We saw hurt, love, pain of betrayal, yet allowing those same to heal and allow Jameson to start a new life.

I'm not reading anymore Harlequin IRR books. Story is think and it's not apparent from the text that this is actually an IRR.

It was a quick read and fun. I liked but it seem the end was rushed. I would probably read more from this author.
